Pennsylvania Highlands Workforce Development & Continuing Education works to meetthe training, non-credit education, and community interest needs of the region. Every year,we offer a wide selection of courses to assist you in excelling professionally and growingintellectually while stimulating your mind and body.

Located in the Workforce Education Center at the Richland Campus, the WorkforceDevelopment & Continuing Education staff and instructors work closely with all types ofbusinesses, including manufacturers, health care providers, and private and public partnersto deliver a wide range of customized, professional/personal development, and incumbentworker training solutions. Our Workforce Development courses are designed to meet theneeds and interests of individuals and to support regional business and industry workforceeducation. Our classes give you the ability to develop new skills and enhance current skills.

Our Personal Enrichment courses are intended to help you grow professionally or to justenjoy life by expanding your knowledge or fitness with personally enhancing activities.Whether you want to learn a new language, explore new interests, or become proficientin computer applications, you will find various options to choose from. Many of our coursesare designed to be delivered as online offerings in a self-paced format. There are numerousonline offerings available through the College's website that can expand your knowledgeof a subject or introduce you to new and exciting areas of learning.

Home Healthcare AideHome Healthcare Aides assist patients in theirhomes by focusing on their specific health andpersonal needs. Emphasis is on giving personalcare in a client's home, communications, workingwith ill persons, basic human needs, eldercare,nutrition, special diets, and home management.Home Healthcare Aides also work in hospitals,clinics, rehabilitation centers, home care, longterm care facilities, hospice, and assisted livingfacilities. Course topics and review include therole of the home health aide, client relationships,infection control, hospice care, anatomy andphysiology, medical terminology, dressing andpersonal grooming, foot care, nutrition, and otherrelevant topics. Course registrations for Continuing Educationclasses are accepted on an ongoing basis, butmust be received prior to course start dates.

Confirmation of course registration, includingroom location(s), will be mailed upon receipt ofa completed registration form and payment.

You will not be enrolled in a course until acompleted registration form and payment arereceived.

Acceptable methods of payment include check,cash, or credit card (Visa or MasterCard). A feeof $25 will be assessed for any check refused forinsufficient funds.

Pennsylvania Highlands Community Collegereserves the right to add or delete courses, aswell as change class times, locations, fees, orinstructors at any time.
