Workaround to the ribbon integration issues with Excel 2016/2019 (v16) StatPlus:mac runs as a standalone app and supports the following data sources: Built-In StatPlus Spreadsheet (select Built-In from the Spreadsheet menu), Microsoft Excel (select Microsoft Excel from the Spreadsheet menu), Apple Numbers (select Apple Numbers from the Spreadsheet menu). You can change the active data source by selecting the appropriate menu item from the Spreadsheet menu. Ribbon integration The ribbon with StatPlus commands integrated to the Microsoft Excel provides a convenient way to run a data analysis with no need to switch to the StatPlus app. We recommend that you have only one Microsoft Excel app copy installed. Please note that the ribbon integration described below is not necessary to analyze data directly from the Microsoft Excel app. You can start a data analysis for a workbook opened in Microsoft Excel by selecting the Microsoft Excel menu item from the StatPlus Spreadsheet menu. Then run a data analysis command from the StatPlus main menu. StatPlus will remember Microsoft Excel as a data source for future use so you do not have to select Microsoft Excel each time you want to run an analysis. Excel v16 (latest build of Excel 2016 and Excel 2019) has impacted the ribbon integration and extra steps are required to re-enable StatPlus ribbon integration. This document describes workaround that resolves the integration issues with Excel version 16. These steps are required to be completed only once. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at [email protected]. These steps are not required for Excel 2016 users running Excel version 15. To check the version of Microsoft Excel please open the Excel app, go to the Excel menu and choose About Excel (in the dialog box that opens, the version number appears at the top and looks like “Version 15.xx” or “Version 16.xx”). Steps to enable the ribbon To add the StatPlus ribbon to Microsoft Excel 2016 v16 or Microsoft Excel 2019, please follow these steps: 1. Open Microsoft Excel 2016 or 2019. 2. Open StatPlus and verify that Microsoft Excel is selected as default data source (select Microsoft Excel from the Spreadsheet menu). 3. Add the StatPlus add-in file to the Excel 2016/2019 installation – click the Enable command, from the Excel Menu Integration (2004, 2011–2019) submenu. Confirm to re-launch the Excel app.
