It was wonderful to see so many families here supporting their children on Tuesday morning, especially the new students to Preschool and Transition. Classes began within 15 minutes and were focused, actively listening and working cooperatively. I would like to warmly welcome all new families and staff to Woodroffe. You will find a staff list on the next page with our new staff members highlighted in bold. Thank you to the many families who came in early to purchase book packs and uniforms. Particular thanks to the families who have made a voluntary school contribution. Thank you to our office staff who have worked extremely hard assisting families before and after school this week and thank you teachers and students for returning to school so enthusiastically. If our school community continues to work together we will have very successful year. Our evening to “Meet the Teachers”, as detailed over the page, is your best opportunity to meet teachers, visit your child’s classroom and clarify any queries. Teachers can make an appointment if a ‘more in-depth’ conversation is needed. A successful school relies on the strength of it’s School Council. At Woodroffe we hold 9 collaborative meetings throughout the year, including the AGM. Please consider joining our Council, you may phone our chairperson Amber Stevens on 0408854078 or email [email protected] if you have any questions. Our first whole school assembly for 2015 will be next Friday, 6th February at 8.15am, in the hall and all families are welcome to attend. Mrs Canning’s 5/6 class will be hosting next week’s assembly. Please look for our newsletter every Thursday, it is the school’s main source of communication with families. If you would like to have the newsletter emailed to you in full colour every Thursday please email [email protected] stating your child’s/children’s name. This is a great way to help save the environment with the reduction of ink and paper. If you were receiving the newsletter via email last year please still send an email for confirmation for this year. Meet the Teacher

An opportunity for parents of Preschool, Pandanus and Primary School children to visit classrooms and to “Meet the Teacher” on Tuesday February 11th from 5.00pm—6.00pm. This will be followed by the Woodroffe Primary 2015 AGM at 6.15pm which will be held in library the whole school community is invited to attend.
