Seller InsightWhen we first viewed the property, we were completely taken with the amazing garden. It was a show garden around 10 years ago, and we could still see how much thought had gone in to the landscaping and year-round colour,” says Mark.

“We’ve lived here for 4 years, we’re not overlooked and we feel that it’s our own piece of Paradise. We’re less than a mile from Whipsnade Zoo (as the crow flies) and we often hear the dawn chorus of the lions yawning and roaring! We can hear the chimpanzees and the elephants too.”

“Dunstable Downs is a 10-minute walk away with views over Aylesbury Vale and we love to go there for a coffee and to see the gliders and hang gliders. There’s a local pub within a 5-minute walk and some shops, just a bit further away.”

“We have half an acre of land which serves as its own playground. With the landscaped garden and wooded area, there’s plenty of space for children to run around exploring and building camps,” continues Mark. “We have visiting pheasants and the whole house comes to a standstill to watch the woodpecker when it pops by. It’s also interesting to watch the stand offs between the black and grey squirrels!”

“When we moved in, we made some changes to the layout downstairs and now enjoy a dining / living / sitting / tv area, all combined into one room. We added an extension and bifold doors and now enjoy the outdoors inside for most of the year. We look for any excuse to open the doors, even in winter!” says Mark. “It’s a well divided 4-space room and we love the underfloor heating, the fire, the bookcase and the mood lighting. Most evenings we use the blue effect but there’s also a disco option which the children obviously love!”

“We have two favourite rooms, one of which being the kitchen / dining / living area and the other being the huge upstairs room which runs the entire length of the house. There are five Velux windows, two of which open into mini balconies. From here you can take in the fabulous open views of the countryside, and on clear days, you can see The Shard in the distance, poking up like a little needle.”

“It has to be the wonderful design of the garden and the fabulous selection of fully mature trees, dating back decades. There’s a weeping willow and the magnolia is just coming out. There’s a wonderful contrast of colours in the trees alone and I will miss these desperately.”

“It’s become a huge tradition in our household for the annual fireworks party to be hosted here. There’s plenty of room outside to enjoy the fireworks, or if it’s a bit too noisy or chilly, there’s always the option to stay indoors with a glass of mulled wine where you can watch the fireworks from the comfort of indoors. The summer months are great too; we’ve become the ‘go to’ place for friends and family and the children can run around working up an appetite for burgers cooked on the built-in BBQ.”

“Due to personal circumstances, we are moving to the South coast. I’m already grieving for the loss of ‘outdoors inside’ lifestyle we have, mainly due to the wonderful bifold doors. I sit here every day thinking about that and I’m making the most of the opportunity to watch the squirrels and look out for the woodpecker.”

“Idyllic”, “A rural haven”, “Stunning panorama” and “Amazing living space” are just a few superlatives that can be attributed to Woodview. These are some reasons why it’s a truly great opportunity to acquire this wonderful property, situated on the top of the Chiltern Hills in grounds of around ½ an acre. This extended and improved house enjoys total seclusion and offers the most beautiful, sweeping views over not only the gardens, but also the wide open countryside beyond, extending even to the city.

The current owners have extended and vastly improved the living space that is available. The hub of the home is the amazing open plan kitchen, which serves also as a living and dining area, that is bathed in natural light from the highly impressive lantern window and also the bi folding doors that harmoniously bring the indoors and outdoors together. The quality continues with the flooring and the under floor heating. The rest of the accommodation is equally as impressive and comprises three ground floor double bedrooms; the master having an en suite shower room. There is a single bedroom that is currently being utilized as an office and a five piece family bathroom. Downstairs is completed by the utility room and WC. The first floor houses just one room, but this isn’t an ordinary room, it’s not only enormous, it’s from here that the far reaching views from the balcony windows are best enjoyed. Currently being used as a bedroom, kids’ play room and supplementary living room, it truly has a multitude of uses and possibilities.
