• 1965-1966: Establishment of Medicare/Medicaid Programs

• 1967: APTA adopts policy to create Physical Therapy Assistant Programs

• 1969: Name change to Physical Therapist Assistant

• 1969: 1st 15 PTAs graduated with Associates Degrees in Florida
