Day 1 Wednesday 04 February 2015 (D) Depart Brisbane - Arrive Hobart Fly from Brisbane to Hobart you will be greeted by your Tasmanian Coach Captain and board the luxury 5 star touring coach ready for your Tasmanian adventure. Cross the Tasman Bridge to Hobart City and tour historic Battery Point, Salamanca Place and the vibrant Waterfront before settling into your accommodation the Travelodge Hobart Airport for the next four nights.Day 2 Thursday 05 February 2015 (B, D) Huon Valley – Forest Air Walk Tour the apple orchards and fruit growing regions of the Huon Valley, through Huonville, Franklin, and Geeveston to Tasmania’s southern eucalypt and Huon pine forests. Explore the Visitor Centre and take a unique view of the environment during the 570 metre long walk between the magnificent canopies of the Tahune Forest high in the tree tops at Tahune Forest Airwalk. Day 5 Sunday 08 February 2015 (B, D) Heritage Highway – Richmond – Oatlands - RossToday we say goodbye to Hobart and make our way along the Heritage Highway to the North West Coast. First stop is the historic village of Richmond. Continue to Oatlands and visit the newly restored Flour Mill and one of the last working knitting mills in Australia. Visit Ross and Campbell Town with its wonderful tree carvings. Enjoy a night out this evening with dinner and a dance at the Wynyard RSL.Day 6 Monday 09 February 2015 (B, L, D) Cradle Valley – Dove Lake – North West Coast Venture into the hinterland behind Ulverstone to the murals town of Sheffield. Continue south past Mt Roland, through rainforest and wild rivers to reach Cradle Mountain National Park. Board the shuttle bus to Dove Lake at the foot of the crags of Cradle Mountain and visit Waldheim, forest home of pioneer Gustav Weindorfer. Overnight at the Tall Timbers Resort, Smithton.Day 7 Tuesday 10 February 2015 (B, D) Stanley – Ashgrove Cheese - LauncestonThis morning visit the historic village of Stanley nestling at the foot of an ancient volcanic core known as ‘The Nut’. Tour past Highfield, historical headquarters of the early Van Diemens Land Co. and explore the quaint town with its terraces and chairlift access to the top of The Nut (ride is optional and own expense). Sample award winning cheese at Ashgrove Farm then continue on to Launceston and your accommodation at the Country Club Villas.Day 8 Wednesday 11 February 2015 (B,D) Launceston – Tamar Cruise - BeaconsfieldThis morning explore Launceston’s city centre and magnificent Cataract Gorge with its cliff-side gardens, peacocks, pools, suspension foot bridge and one of the longest single span chairlifts in the world. Take a cruise on the beautiful Tamar River through the river front precinct of Kings Wharf, Seaport and the Cataract Gorge. This afternoon tour the picturesque Tamar Valley to the Mine & Heritage Museum in the gold mining town of Beaconsfield, site of the 2006 mine disaster and miraculous rescue. Return to the Country Club Villas to enjoy the facilities before dinner.Day 9 Thursday 12 February 2015 (B,D) Launceston – North East - BichenoTour south this morning along the Heritage Highway through the historic town of Campbell Town before travelling across to the beautiful East Coast. Continue to the seaside resort town of Bicheno and visit East Coast Nature World to ride the ‘Pelican Express’ and meet a Tasmanian devil. Depart the picturesque East Coast and follow the Prosser River Valley to our overnight accommodation in Hobart. (Balmoral Motor Inn).Day 10 Friday 13 February 2015 (B,L) Depart Hobart – Arrive BrisbanePrior to your flight home spend time in the magnificent Royal Botanical Gardens. Stroll the beautifully landscaped site and where you may even discover Peter Cundall’s veggie patch. Grab those last minute souvenirs during free time in the city before transfers to the Hobart Airport.
