    on/offswitch. A wireless, metal-plate wall switch that can be placedanywhere and can control any light fixture in your house byattaching its by a human as a control signal to a systemdirectlymanipulated

    remote component. The range on the Lucite-boxed switch isA switch may beNormally, home appliances are controlled by means ofswitchessensors, etc. However, physical contact with switches may dangerousifthere is any shorting.

    The circuit described here requires no physical contact foroperating the appliance. You just need to move your hand between

    the infrared LED and the photo transistor.

    WORKING:transistor and other discrete components

    When regulated voltage is connected tocircuit it emits IRrays, which are received by

    photo transistor

    Op-amp amplifies the signal received from phototransistor.

    R3 controls the base current of transisitor

    The high output of IC1 energise relay & leads to switch on

    It is simple,compactand cheap.

    The circuit is stable & sensitivecompared toother ACappliancecontrol circuits

    Current consumption is low inmilliamperes.

    DISADVANTAGES

    In order to switch on the appliance we simplyinterrupt the IR rays fallingOn the photo transistor through our hand.

    During interruption the appliance remains onthrough the relay.

    When we removeour hand from IR beam theappliance turns off through relay.
