FortWhyte Mileage ChallengeTake part in the longest ‘race’ we’ve ever held. Registration gives you unlimited access to FortWhyte Alive from December – February! Participants use an online app to track their mileage by foot, wheel, ski, snowshoe–anything goes. Top finishers receive a prize!

Fly TyingManitoba Fly Fishers Association provides the guidance to learn this beautiful lesser-known art. For your tackle box or your mantle, “flies” mimic the insects found on rivers and in lakes with delicate and precise features. Learn a bit about aquatic entomology and take a few flies home to drive the local trout wild next spring.

Winnipeg’s first endurance fat bike-only race in happening at FortWhyte Alive this winter.Take on the challenge of a 10 km, 30 km or 40 km fat bike race through our pristine forests. Experience nature, the elevation, and the technical snow trails all on the comfort of your fatty. The day will be packed with fun things to do for the entire family! We will end the race with a lunch buffet, warm apple cider and a few local brews. All proceeds benefit environmental education at FortWhyte Alive. Organized by the fine people of Woodcock Cycle and 2 Wheel Revolution.
