Despite this, TheCoast Area Plan EIR passed n June llegally authorizesdevelopmentplansall ofthese land uses.Theseare only some ofthe many illegalities andviolations ofexistingordinancesn the Coalition's lawsuits. By late August other groups oined. At this printingAlliance now has approximately 30+ groups participating, with a collemembership of 5000+.Some Alliance accomplishments so far:.Organized letter writing campaign to get the Coastal Commission Hemoved from Nov. in Agoura Hills to Jan. 15 n SanLuis Obispo(at the EmSuites Hotel). .Conhacted with the Environmental Defense Center (ofBarbara) orpresentationsbeforeheCoastalCommissionHearing nJanuarysecuringbiologic, geophysical, raffrc, water, pollution and other studies or ewitness testimonies at thehearing..Organized,rintedand funded fundraisingmailings to thepublic for theabove listed presenta-t ions..Set up speakingengagements omplete withpanels at local area radiostations, council meetings,League of Women Voters,Chamber of Commercemeetings,environmentalandvarious com-munity groupmeet-ings..Organized andparticipated in first fund-raising event, with anotherscheduled fo r the f irstweekendin January..Set upinformation tables at localevents, including Farmer'sMarkets in the county..Developed and sold "Savethe Coast" bumperstickers..Established database of over 7,000 namesand completed fundraisingm a i l i n g s . .
