Purpose

The purpose of this whitepaper is to assist the customer in determining whether or not a field can be added to an iProcurement page through personalizationswhen the field they are looking for is not already listed in the personalizations list.

The first thing that needs to be determined is what field the customer wantsadded and where on the page they want it added.

For purpose of this example we will use the scenario that the customer wants toadd the Currency Code to the Negotiation Lines screen after the category field.

We need to find out if this is a field that can be called to go into the lines table.

Click on “About this Page” and then select ‘Expand All’ under Page Definition:

Do a search on “Lines Table” as that is the area of the personalization that wewant to add a field to.

From here we need to scroll over until we see the “View Object” column:

We can see that everything belonging to this table is in the‘AuctionItemPricesAllVO’ view. Click on the view:

As you scroll down you can see an attributes list. This is the list of fieldsavailable from the sql being called to show the data on the screen. If we scrollthrough this list we can see the attribute or field ‘CurrencyCode’.

We have now determined that the customer can add the Currency Code into their line descriptions when reviewing a Negotiation. The next step is to actually addthis field onto the page via personalizations.

Note: If the item they want to add is not listed in the Attributes list then thecustomer cannot add this field without customizing the Query listed above theattributes.

Click on ‘Return to About Page’ at the bottom of the page and then ‘Return toPage: RFQ: ####’

From what we have done so far we have determined that the field‘CurrencyCode’ is found in the view ‘AuctionItemPricesAllVO’ under the ‘Lines

Table’ section of the RFQ Lines page.

Next we click on ‘Personalize “Lines Table”’

To add the new field to the list of personalizations, click on “Create Item” on the‘Table: Lines Table’ row:

Change item Style to ‘Message Styled Text’

Give the Property ‘ID’ a value of something that is unique and isn’t the samename as the actual field, like, MyCurrencyCode.

Give the Property ‘Prompt’ the value that is going to be seen on the page itself 

for the column identifying the Currency Code.

Next, make the View Attribute field, ‘CurrencyCode’ which was the name of theattribute we found and make View Instance ‘AuctionItemPricesAllVO’ which wasthe view that held the attribute.

The new field we have just entered is now listed at the bottom of thepersonalizations list; however, the customer wanted this after the Category field.

Scroll up and click on the ‘Reorder’ image in the ‘Table: Lines Table’ row:

My Currency Code is at the bottom of the list of available fields for the Function,Personalize list.

Click on the arrows on the right side of that section to move it up under Categoryand click apply.

Now the field shows under Category on the Personalizations page:

Click on ‘Return to Application’ and the new personalized field is showing up onthe page the customer wanted, where they wanted it.
