A very old parable about the crab in the bucket

There is a very old parable about the crab in the bucket. When you put a crab into a bucket and it can climb out, it will get out of it. But if you put two crabs into the same bucket...

Both would be able to climb out, but neither of them will eventually escape. Why?

Because they will continually drag each other back, despite the fact that both of them could climb out. Neither of them allows the other to get out of the bucket.

Interesting, isn't it? But what does this have to do with us?

What do the crabs have to do with you and with the way you

currently live?

Unfortunately, society has worked the same way since the world began.

Look at those who want to get out of the greyness and find a "free life". What happens to them?

First, everyone tries to drag them back down. If they do not succeed, they ostracize this person because they cannot keep up with him. And who is to blame? Obviously, the individual "cannot help" behaving like this, because they have been conditioned. They are wrong, but responsible, because if they wanted to, they could do something about it. I identified three main reasons why everyone is dragging back the next person.

Three main reasons why everyone is dragging back the

next person

Teachers / Education: People are not to educated to stand out and find their inherent capabilities, but rather, to be conformists. They are taught how to make themselves accepted by the crowd, how to get good grades and later on gain a job Basically, they are taught to be mediocre... no comment! (Props to the exceptions to this rule.)

Media: The media does not awaken you, instead, it brings you down with negative news, negative attitudes and a tendency to awaken fear. Therefore, it is good to limit your media exposure. I haven’t owned a TV set since 2006 - since I started options trading.

Parents, friends: It may not be their intention, but parents are the toughest pullback forces. People want to meet the requirements of their families and friends. If they are conformists, they will not encourage you to get out of the greyness. The saying is right: you become similar to the people who surround you. It is mostly true, that you cannot earn much more than the average salary of your closest friends. Think about it - do you earn much more than your friends?

Everyone tried to drag me back down

I clearly remember the feeling when I started to "wake up" and constantly work on how can I get rid of the corporate world, of the modern slavery.

Whenever I spoke about my ambitions with colleagues, friends, they were uncomprehending and told me "Do not be ridiculous, you do not understand this."

With IT qualifications, the world of stocks and options sounded strange. Everyone tried to drag me back down, only my partner supported me on my way. Nobody believed that I could do it, but it's not their fault, the fault lies with society.

Do your best!

You can get out of the bucket, do not let the conformist society pull you back!

If you have a dream that you want to accomplish, go for it and don’t give in to the crowd's opinion. It is also true that on the stock market the crowd is always wrong. In particular, the atmosphere of a corporation, a bunch of people who sell their time and nicely drag each other back. is very unappealing. Get out of the greyness and never give up your dream!

If you have a feeling inside, follow it, don’t care too much what others think of it. If they really drag you back, do not even talk about it, just make your plans and do your best to reach your goal.
