Swims or floats in the sea

Many sea creatures spend all their lives swimming in the open sea. Other float in the sea and are pushed around by the currents. There is nowhere to hide for protection although deep down it is pitch black. 2Walks on the beach

Some sea creatures need to walk on the beach. Many of these animals breath air. Some come to the beach to lay eggs while some may rest or raise young. 3Lives in a rockpool

There are many places to hide in a rockpool. Plants and animals can glue themselves or hang onto the rocks so waves cant wash them away. 4Lives in a coral reef

Coral reefs are a special home. Most of the animals that live in coral reefs cant survive without their reef. Coral is built up by colonies of tiny animals called coral polyps. 5Lives in seagrass

Some flowering plants called seagrass is able to live in shallow seas. Meadows of seagrass can host many more creatures than just a sandy bottom. The creatures have places to hide and find food. The grasses are like high-rise flats. 6Walks on the bottom of the sea

Many marine creatures prefer to walk on the floor of the sea rather than swim. The floor of the sea will have the most food. Anything that is dead and rotting will also be food for many animals. 7Complete the activity sheet and use the powerpoint to discuss your answers Many marine animals live in more than one place.Swims or floats in the sea
