Besides discussing trade topics and sharing best practices with its over 100 festivals and associated members, Yourope has founded dedicated groups dealing with health & safety (YES Group), green operations (GO Group) and marketing & communication (EMAC Group). Founded in November 1998, its members are dedicated to improving the European festival scene in terms of: • working conditions • health and safety issues • sustainability and environmental awareness • exchange of knowledge and information • promoting the cross-border exchange of live music talent in Europe The overall aim of the association is to collaborate, share experiences and to pinpoint areas that would benefit from a joint approach. Having gained respect within the industry and at government level, Yourope has the power to lobby for all legal and industry issues relating to the European festival industry on behalf of its members, and in conjunction with other associations in the live music business. Yourope also focuses on other key issues for festivals, such as exchange of information regarding marketing and sponsorship, contracts, production riders, radio/TV/internet rights and more. The EMAC Group was designed to support and inspire profes-sionals of the music festival industry. It is a platform within Yourope, but not limited to its members. The main goals are sharing knowledge, best practices and promoting common goals in four main areas of interest:• Sponsorship• Marketing and product development• Communication• BroadcastingThe Group hosts meetings, workshops, seminars and also drafts guidelines and proposals with the aim to create a more efficient and professional marketing and communication environment in the festival sector.

Founded: 2003ETEP was introduced in 2003 to make the ‘exchange’ of European artists across Europe possible on a grater scale than ever before. In 2015, Yourope drafted a mission statement declaring the role of festivals in turbulent times such as the present one. Given the current political situation, this statement has become more important than ever, prompting Yourope to go a step further and launching the campaign TAKE A STAND in early 2017. Today it is the most important independent awareness campaign for the music and creative sector that aims to strengthen the awareness for the European values such as openness, cultural exchange, social cohesion, tolerance, humanism and peaceful dialogue. Within two years it gathered more than 105 supporting festivals and promoters from 24 countries as well as 16 associations and partners. www.take-a-stand.eu

Yourope‘s bi-anual European Festival Conference (EFC) was created as a gathering and summit of festival promoters in a new conference format related to all festival topics. The concept of a travelling event brought the EFC to Kals (A) in 2015 and Larvik (NOR) for the second edition in 2017, which was fully dedicated to the «future of festivals». The 3rd edition of the European Festival Conference will take place from 20 – 22 November 2019 in Vallromanes, Barcelona, Spain.www.europeanfestivalconference.com

Founded: 2006YOUROPE has organized 26 health & safety seminars for festival security staff from all over Europe. The seminars and workshops have had a big impact on YOUROPE and the festival sector in recent years. YOUROPE EVENT SAFETY GROUP

Yourope co-founded GO Group (Green Operations Europe) in 2011. It is an independent, cross industry think-tank to inspire people in the music, festival and events industry to run their operations greener, smarter and more sustainable. GO Group stimulates exchange and leads the discussion about social and ecological responsibility. Within its seven years of existance GO Group delivered 5 international conferences with up to 180 participants, 10 international two-day workshops and festival field trips as well as 45 conference contributions (such as panels, presentations, keynotes) in 14 European countries. The 8th international GO Group workshop will take place on 1 & 2 April 2019 in Praguewww.go-group.org

Yourope and Festival Awards Ltd. worked in co-operation with Eurosonic Noorderslag to launch the European Festival Awards in October 2009. The 10th edition of the Festival Awards Europe (with 15 categories) takes place in January 2019 in the context of Eurosonic Noorderslag at Groningen (NL). eu.festivalawards.com
