1Why the TSI Pre-Assessment Activity?Before you can take the TSI assessment, you must participate in a Pre-AssessmentYou will be asked, Were you provided with information and/or an activity to help you understand all of the following: 1 the importance of this assessment, 2 sample questions, 3 course options, and 4 resources for students?You must document your completion of the Pre-Assessment ActivityYou must be able to answer YES to take the TSI test
2What is the TSI Assessment?It is a placement test, not an admissions test
Based on the placement test, you may be directed to take a diagnostic test or an adult basic education assessment

4What are the passing scores?The score range on the TSI Assessment in all sections is 310-390TSI Math- College Readiness 350TSI Reading- 351TSI Writing- 5 on the essay or 363 with a 4 on the essayWhat if I score below the passing standard?DiagnosticsAdult Basic Education
5Are there exemptions?
ACT- composite score of a 23 with a 19 in English and 19 in Math
SAT- composite score of 1070 with 500 in Critical Reading and 500 in Math
TAKS- ELA score of 2200 with a 3 or higher in writing and 2200 in Math (can have partial exemptions)6What is on the test?TSI Math is 20 questions that covers the four content areas. There are four questions in each section of the diagnostic test.
TSI Reading is 24 questions with 10-12 items in each section of the diagnostic test.
TSI Writing is 20 questions with 10-12 items in each section of the diagnostic test.
You may also be asked to write a five paragraph persuasive essay.

When is TSI Testing?
