What is an Interactive Notebook?

An interactive notebook is your personal, customized textbook

The notebook records your journey though American Civics and is designed by you as a place to:

Explore and learn about history

Organize your notes

Be a creative, independent, and analytical thinker

Interactive Notebooks Do A Lot

Interactive Notebooks: Organize you – most of your materials for class are in one place

DON’T LOSE IT! Help you keep things in chronological order – pretty important in a

history class Encourages you to take pride in your work – interactive notebook

Your notebook will have: Rubrics for grading Table of contents for each chapter in class Class notes Places for you to work Handouts/maps/guides Flipbooks (Mr. Staten will teach you how to build them!) And more…

Interactive Notebooks appeal to both the logical and creative sides of the brain by using both sides of the notebook

The Right Side is where your Cornell Style Notes will go Cornell notes are very good at preparing you to think about

material you learn at a higher (read: collegiate) level!

The Left Side is where you get to be creative Warmups, cartoons, drawings, free responses…that goes here!

Don’t Worry…

This guy spent two years working on this! You’ll eventually get really good at it with
