The Hamptons is a 980-unit mid-rise condominium located in Cupertino, California, across the road from the Apple Campus 2. At over 400,000 square feet, the program includes 3 outdoor pools, a dedicated luxury amenity deck and building, and a mixture of 1-3 bedroom units and penthouses. I was on the project team throughout all of my time with Arquitectonica Corporation, working on plans, sections, elevations, and 3D models.

The garden towers is a multi-functional building complex at Bathurst and Fort York in Toronto, Ontario. Consisting of a variety of programs including a hotel and residential condominium, everything is centered around the activity of gardening. Agriculture has been the staple of civilization for thousands of years, engrained in the roots of every culture. The culture of gardening and harvesting is both practical and enjoyable, bringing people together for a healthy, sustainable cause. As leisure, it allows for a human connection to nature, even in an urban setting. Anyone can partake in it, and even children benefit heavily from an educational aspect, as it teaches discipline (maintaining and taking care of a life form), basic biology, and sets a good precedent for a green-aware, sustainable future.

In the fast-paced urban core of a big metropolis like Toronto, sufficient, affordable living space isextremely hard to find. And for those who need to always be up and about around the downtown streets of the city, there is The Bike Joint. Toronto’s bike culture is diverse and dynamic, and cyclists are always on the move. Bike messengers in particular are people who truly live and breath the city in all its glory.
If your life revolves around bikes, why should your home be any different?A Joint is a moving part of something bigger...

By boiling down a house to its key elements, this enables a practical design that is efficient with its use of space, built for a specific type of person, and comfortable to live in.
The cycling community is very social, and byopening up alley ways as public spaces for interactions, this brings harmony between a shared common space and public space.

TORONTO ISLANDS POOLIt’s a hot and sunny Saturday afternoon in Toronto, perfect for a day out. After a commute on the subway and a ferry cruise across the harbour to Centre Island, you mount your bike and cycle along a path to Olympic Island. Soon, amidst the endless pluming willow tree leaves, you spot a ramp poking out to the path. You speed up, anticipating the slope. As you ascend, you see a man perched atop a diving board. As the ramp banks to the left, the skyline of Toronto comes into view, complete and uninterrupted. Looking to your right, you see a group of friends talking and laughing as they eat on a cafe patio. As you go further, you look down over the railing and see a long row of bronze bodies laying out on a deck, bathing in the sun. Beside them, a swimmer propels himself down a very long lap pool. Riding parallel to him, your speeds match or a brief moment.
Dismounting, you rack your bike by a railing just as a girl somersaults into a diving pool. Thirsty from your cycling, you grab a drink at the cafe booth and set it down on the counter atop the railing. You see a few kids compete at their best cannonball dives before deciding that you want to partake in the action as well.
Hopping back on your bike, you cruise along the rest of the upper balcony, and see a long series of curving windows to your right. Inside what appears to be a large, high-ceiling hall, you see a marrying couple kiss before a seated audience.
After changing and showering, you walk out onto the deck and look up. Through the rays of golden sun, a silhouette gracefully splashes into the pool below. You walk past and splash for a while in a shallow pool, before taking a few laps in the long pool. Finally mustering up the courage, you climb all the way up to the highest board at the diving pool. When you get to the top, the intensity of the sun on your back is matched only by the eyes of many surrounding you, waiting on your move.
Standing tall, you look down the beam of light, take a deep breath, and swan dive into the best day of your summer.

One of the major issues that the Grand Domestic Revolution has led to is the lack of ideal caring time for children. The once traditional “working man” and “housewife” have since dissolved, and parents face the issue of building a comfortable, safe atmosphere for raising a child.
Water St. Park attempts to unify four aspects of young family life: the household, the meal time, the park, and the daycare. The home units overlook the park area, allowing for a constant eye on the space. A waterfall connects the outdoor park level to the underground parking, bringing light and water down to the space below. Benches, trees, and a jungle gym are also directly onsite only seconds away from the home.

*All photos are self-taken.
Planeterreaum is a place for people to gather and experience Toronto from a new perspective; a moment of contemplation amongst strangers. A hexacopter, equipped with five GoPro cameras hovering 300ft in the air, captured an aerial video feed that was projected onto the interior of the geodesic dome surrounding guests with a spherical view of Toronto.
I also shot and edited a video documenting the process and project which can be viewed at:

Frame is a set of modular structures that works functionally and structurally to support activities as well as items. It focuses on the frame, the foundation of furniture, to draw attention to an essential part of daily life that is usually overlooked. The project provides an interface between users and framework furniture.
The modules aim to define and facilitate the organization of a space that users can continuously reinvent in relation to asituation’s context. When the module is positioned the right side up, the triangular surface is low enough to be a sitting surface, but when the 1.5 m tall frame is placed upside down, the surface is then located higher up along the surface of the frame and it becomes the ideal height for a table top. This allows for the constant reconsideration of the existing space in terms ofadaptability to and flexibility for change. Frame acts to reunite the public and private space within the home in the din-ing room between the kitchen and bedrooms. By creating a space to reconvene with housemates as well as guests,Frame develops a new, useable gathering space.
The exploration of Frame’s new potential configurations could encourage the occupants to reinterpret their living room to start using it as a social space. A room that was previously rarely used for anything but circulation could be transformed into agathering or study space.
34
FRAME x4
Right: Only some of the possible configurations. (Theoretically unlimited)
Below: A diagramatic representation of the individual configurations.
35
For the scope of this project, the frames were limited to the one room, with four frames. This could be applied to any space, that is small, large, outdoor or indoor, dynamically repurposing and changing it to an infinite degree.

Erebus & Terror was the class stage production written, directed, and produced entirely by the 2B class of University of Waterloo Architecture. It was a chance to apply the skills of the architectural profession in a wholly different art. As a class we had to collaborate and work as a team to design spaces, build structures, handle budgeting, and essentially pitch the project to a client (the audience) in performance.
Although I was a co-lead actor, my key role was the photo and video-documentation of the project’s process. Collected here are a few photographs taken during the rehearsals. A compilation behind-the-scenes video of the progress that was shot and edited by myself can be seen through the following link:

syzygy - [ siz · ih · jee ] , noun. “The perfect alignment of three celestial bodies, such as the sun, the earth, and the moon.”
Syzygy is an internet radio station and clothing company based in Toronto, Ontario. It promotes independent artists, musicians, photographers, filmmakers, and related events through an internet radio channel.
In designing the company logo, the definition of the word “syzygy” itself was communicated through a simpleform, while almostechoing a Greek alphabetic structure. Due to its clean lines and simple, monotone palette, it is extremely versatile and can be applied with a multitude of colours and patterns for shirts, hats, posters, and promotional images while retaining its striking, sharp, minimalist quality. Alternate logos were also designed for a greater degree of flexibility and variety.
