Stewardship Greetings In The Name Of Our Lord, We will be entering into 5-week series on stewardship in January. What is stewardship? One teacher I read about taught a lesson entitled, “Who Owns Your French Fries?” It is the story of a man who buys his little boy some french fries. Then, the father did what all fathers do: He reached over and took one french fry to taste it. The little boy slapped his father’s hand and said, "Don’t touch my french fries." The father thinks that his son is selfish. The father knows that he bought the french fries, and they belong to him. The father knows that his son belongs to him. The father could get angry and never buy his son another french fry again to teach his son a lesson. The father thinks, "Why is my son selfish? I have given him a whole package of french fries. I just want one french fry." Perhaps you see the point: God owns everything; our time, our talents, our treasure, our temple, our testi-mony . . . He owns it all. He has given these things to us for our benefit, but He has given them to us, specifi-cally, to manage on His behalf. Stewardship is an old English word derived from two terms, “steward” and “ship.” A “steward” was an officer over the meals and provisions of a “ship.” Put it together, and you have stewardship. Biblically, then, a steward is one whom God has entrusted to manage and give an account of His assets. In our day and age, the term, trustee, captures the sense of it. Since we all have been given much by God, we all are stewards. In the coming weeks, we will talk about different aspects of stewardship. We need to be good stewards of the gospel. We need to be good stewards of our time. We need to be good stewards of our skills. We need to be good stewards of our bodies. And, yes, we need to be good stewards of our finances. God has given much to each of you. Since He will require an accounting of if on the last day, join us as we discuss how we can be good stewards of His grace. 1 Corinthians 4:2 & Happy New Year, Pastor Chip
Students
This is a great season of Ministry. Our youth are getting out and serving people in the name of Christ, our group is growing on Wednesday nights, and God is pouring out his spiritual blessings upon His teenagers in our church. I am happy to say this may be the most spiritually mature group of youth I have ever had at our church. This group of youth are hungry for God’s word. I feel so blessed by the LORD to lead such a mature, Godly, and fan-tastic group of youth. I look forward to what next year holds. Here is our schedule of events for 2015:

Music and Education Ministry News As we enter into a new year, it is a great time to evaluate yourself and to think about how God would want you to serve in the church this year. If you are being led to worship leadership and would like to be involved helping lead in worship, please let me know. We especially need more in our worship choir. If you are inter-ested in worship ministry support such as sound and video, or if you play an instrument, or if you are inter-ested in education ministry, please let me know. May God bless you all in your service for the Lord in this new year. Happy New Year! Pastor Scott

Children’s Ministry News
A Big “Thank You” to everyone who helped serve hot chocolate at the Annual Springville Christmas Parade. What a great opportunity to go out into the community with the love of Christ. We had a packed bus for the Wednesday evening trip to Noccalulu Falls. The children and adults enjoyed seeing the lights and all the festivities. Hope those who missed the trip will be able to go next year. Children’s Worship on Wednesday evenings will resume on January 7, 2015. Kids Choir and Tiny Tunz will resume on Sunday, January 11th at 6:00 pm. I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a safe, blessed Happy New Year. Kim Conaway
