Graduation Requirements
• Students must earn a minimum of three science credits to graduate.
• Students must earn a minimum of a 65 to pass all required regents exams and receive course credit.
• Students must earn a minimum of a 65 to pass the course and receive course credit.
Laboratory Requirement
• Students are required by NYS Education Department to complete 1200 minutes of laboratory exercises in order to qualify to sit for the Regents Examination in June.
• Earth science lab practical must be taken before the June Regents
Student Expectations:
• Attendance– on time and present daily
• Prepared to learn– notebook, pen/pencil, books,
homework• Complete labs for Regents eligibility • Extra help available (please see your
child’s teacher for afterschool hours)
WMHS Science Department Grading Policy
Quarterly Grade
• Testing Assessments = 60%– Exams 40%-this includes the biweekly
exams as well as quarterly exams. – Quizzes 20%-this includes weekly
quizzes

*75 is considered passing at WMHS This grades indicates the student is College and Career Ready
Course Grade: to determine the grade for the year.
• 70%= average from all 4 quarters• 10%=Midterm Exam • 20%=Final Exam

Physical Education Grading Policy
• Participation 60% of quarterly grade• In order for students to receive full credit they must get dressed for class
and participate in all activities.• Skills Assessment 20% of quarterly grade• Student’s ability to perform task successfully• Testing and Quizzes 20% of quarterly grade• Exams 40%: This will include weekly exams as well as quarterly exams,
midterm and final exams.• Quizzes 20%: This will include weekly quizzes.
• Students will receive 5 points each day if they are dressed and participate in class.
• Students will receive 2 points the first 3x’s they are unprepared for class but participate.
• After the 3rd unprepared the student will receive a zero each day they come to class unprepared.
