ABOUT THE ACADEMYPre-Kindergarten – 12th Grade The North Campus houses Pre-Kindergarten (4 year olds) through
2nd grade. Grades 3rd – 12th attend at our Main Campus. We have 5 classes in each grade level, K – 6. Our approximate total enrollment is currently 1800 which is nearing
capacity.
Charter School Public, no tuition Public school with a private school feel Chartered through the Charter School Institute (State Chartering
Authority)
Board of Directors- elected parents that set policy and curriculum for the school.

HIGH EXPECTATIONS
We do have high standards for all!
The students work hard here at school and have regular homework as well.
On averages our classes are about 1 to 1.5 years above grade level, so is some of our curriculum.
We have structured classrooms where the students are expected to behave and not interrupt the learning for anyone else in the classroom.

ACCELERATED READERWe teach students the fundamentals of how
to read through phonics and specific comprehension strategies.
PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICEAR is a way to mange the massive amounts of reading practice they need.
Students given 45-60 minutes during the day to read at school.
Students have a point goal, comprehension goal, and certification goal.

7:00 7:00 Doors open, students report to gym and line up with their classes or go straight to classroom depending on teacher preference for the “soft start”.
7:20 7:35 Doors open, students report to gym and line up with their classes or go straight to classroom depending on teacher preference for the “soft start”.
7:25-7:35 7:40-7:50 Teachers pick up students in the gym any time during this window and walk them to the classroom. Students use this time to unpack, turn in homework, take AR tests, read, fill in planners, etc. Teachers will need to explicitly teach the student expectations for this “soft start” time.
