Keith was born and raised in the south-end of Louisville, KY were he graduated from Iroquois High
School. He was a J. Graham Brown Scholar at Kentucky Wesleyan and received his Master of Di-
vinity degree from Candler School of Theology, Emory University. Keith’s first full-time appoint-
ment was as Associate Pastor of First UMC, Henderson, KY. He has served as senior pastor of Bea-
ver Dam, Hodgenville, Fern Creek, Mosaic and Crestwood, as well as District
Superintendent of the Covington District.
Keith is married to Sherri Townsend Switzer. Sherri was born and raised in Henderson, KY. She
has a degree in interior design from Sullivan College. Keith and Sherri have three grown children
and two grandchildren. Their oldest son, Cameron, and his wife, Jill, live in Owensboro with their
two sons, Grayson and Beckett, and he teaches in Ohio County. Their daughter, Keri, lives in Den-
ver, CO and teaches second grade. Their youngest son, Clay, will be moving to Owensboro and helping his older brother
coach soccer at Ohio County High School.
Keith is a life-long Methodist, having attended Hazelwood UMC as a child and youth. Through
the love and nurture of that congregation, Keith received a deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ
as Lord and Savior and answered the call to ordained ministry. At every stage of his journey,
Keith received grace and nurture through the congregations he served. Keith and Sherri look
forward to the blessings of grace that will be found at Settle Memorial UMC.
Keith’s favorite pastime is golf or a good book.
