We live right down the street from a school, and at 8:00 am every morning the buses are dropping off little kids to go there. Why does this school exist? It is so that young minds can learn to read and write and grow and stretch. It exists for education. Not too far from here is a hospital. Why does a hospital exist? So that people can live. A hospital keeps people alive. These different needs are met by an infrastructure that engages and invests to better the lives of people in our community. We’re gearing up now for a new year of ministry. Why does a church exist? Why does it matter that we gather here? What does God expect to come from you and from me? Not just us together as a community, but your life and my life. We started this vision month by answering a fundamental question: what does it mean for you to be passionately engaged, growing in Christ and impacting the world in the context of Bethesda? It is a simple challenge but if heeded will make a huge impact in your life and subsequently the life of Bethesda. This is a month of intentionality and vision casting. Whether you are a guest for the first time looking for a new church or you have been attending for years here at Bethesda, engage with us on this journey. Children’s Ministry Pyjama Movie Night
Sunday September 29th
@ 6:00pm – 7:30pm
Bring your child along for a fun movie where they’ll
learn from our friendly Veggie Tale characters about
making good choices. A movie isn’t complete
without popcorn and juice along with an extra treat
of cupcakes and Veggie Tale prizes galore.

First Aid Course – Saturday September 28th. If

‘BELIEVE’ Baptismal Course – Tuesday
October 15th @ 6:30 - 7:30pm.
This course is for children up to grade 6 who are
thinking of being baptized at our Baptismal service
on October 20th. Parents are encouraged to attend
this meeting as well.

Conversation Café
We are looking for more facilitators. No experience required. You do not have to be an ESL teacher or a teacher. We are looking for
conversation partners. There are two facilitators to a group and new facilitators will be paired and trained by more experienced facilitators. You do
not have to speak a second language but, of course, you need to be fluent in English.
We are also looking for volunteers to work with the preschool and preteen children while their parents are participants in Conversation Café, two
volunteers are required for each group. CRC will be required.

Prime Time People The September meeting of Prime Time People (55+) will take place on September 26, 2013 at
5:30 PM. The speaker for this event is Pastor Bruce Newman. Come along and enjoy a relaxing evening of fun and fellowship. Tickets are on sale
today in the foyer at a cost of $10.00 each. Water Baptismal Service
The next Water Baptismal Service will be taking place on Sunday, October 20th during the 10 am service. If you are interested in being baptized,
