TutoringTutoring from your teachers is

available for the most part (exceptions caused by meetings or duty) on a daily basis. The student can come in for help before school and after school on a walk-in basis. For set tutoring times, there is a sign-up board in the classroom.

HomeworkHomework will be assigned and a

due date given. The student must complete the homework by the due date. No late homework will be accepted.

NO LATE WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED.

QuizzesThere will be two types of

quizzes given.

Homework quizzes will be short quizzes to check for understanding on classwork/homework.

Will occur throughout the week Will be over your homework Can be retaken Don’t have to be made up if you are

absent

Quizzes

Combo quizzes will cover material from your homework and homework quizzes. They usually occur every one to two weeks.

They can’t be retaken. They are worth a higher percentage in

the gradebook.

TestsTests will cover materials from the

classwork, homework quizzes, and combo quizzes.

The timeline for each test will depend on the length of each chapter.

Students are encouraged to refer to their weekly calendar to plan ahead.

Absences

If a student is absent, it is the student’s responsibility to come in after school to obtain the make-up work.

The student has one day for each day absent + one day to complete the work.

Late make-up work will not be accepted.

Homework Passes

Students will be given 4 Homework Passes. You can use these if you forgot to do your homework or if you are not confident with your homework for the day. You are still responsible for knowing the material for a quiz or test.

Math Binders

Math binders will be due at the end of each quarter.

Students must save ALL of their work and organize it according to the binder rubric.

The math binder will count as one test score each semester.

Test RetakesStudents may retake two chapter

tests each semester. It is up to the student to schedule

a retest. The AVERAGE of the two tests will go in the grade book, unless a student does worse the 2nd time, in which the original score will remain.

This must be done within two weeks of the date the test is stamped.

Extra Credit

Extra credit will not be given, although a student can raise their grade by having an organized math binder.

Before merging with Delta, Northwest’s logo was one of the best in the industry. The

N and W within the circle are fairly obvious, but did you know the circle also

serves as a compass? And guess which direction the

arrow in the upper-left-hand corner (or the beginning of

the w) is pointing?

Jacob TuckerHe was a Division III basketball player for Illinois College and he

wanted to enter the NCAA slam dunk contest. They told him he wasn’t

well-known enough, so he set out to make himself well-known enough.

He made this video for and it went viral on YouTube.
