Joanna is the mother of 3children—2 boys and 1 girl. Sheworked as a school teacher andtaught in the Harper Woods schooldistrict for 40 years. Thank you,Joanna, for all you do for AH andthe residents!

Carol D.Carol D. was married for 45 years.

She is the mother of 2 girls and 2boys. Carol is also the grandmotherof 4 and great-grandmother of 1. Sheworked as a nurse for 21 years beforeretiring in 1996. You would have seenher smiling face at Kaiser, Grace orSt. John’s Hospital. We considerCarol our Wii cheerleader! • Chocolate is a great source ofantioxidants, which have beenshown to reduce a person’s riskof developing cancer and heartdisease.

• Snickers is the No. 1 sellingchocolate bar in the world.

• Eating dark chocolate inmoderation can lower aperson’s cholesterol levels.

• Americans prefer milk chocolateover dark chocolate; however,the consumption of darkchocolate is increasing. Try toeat dark chocolate containing atleast 40 percent cacao (will bestated on the chocolate candywrapper) for the most healthbenefits.

• The first United Stateschocolate factory was builtin 1765.

• Chocolate can be deadlyto dogs.

• The average American eats 12pounds of chocolate everyyear.

• Once chocolate is made, it canbe kept for one year.
