Telangana launched Dalit Bandhu Scheme

• Telangana launched Dalit Bandhu scheme by

releasing the financial aid of Rs 7.60 crore for 76

Dalit families in Vasalamarri village of Alair

Assembly constituency in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri

district, Telangana.

• The funds were issued by the Scheduled

Castes development department through

Government Order.

• The scheme was officially launched at

Shalapally village in Huzurabad

• Under the scheme every Dalit beneficiary family will be provided Rs 10 lakh and the beneficiaries are free

to spend the money as desired but are advised to use it to create a source of revenue.

Arunachal Pradesh Approves Credit-linked Schemes to Boost Agriculture & Horticulture

• Arunachal Pradesh has approved 2 credit-

linked schemes to boost the economy of

the state through agriculture and

horticulture.

• These 2 schemes will facilitate Rs 300 crore

investment in the agro-based sector.

• These programmes will have 3

components, Bank Loans, Subsidy and

Beneficiaries contribution. It was decided

that the share of subsidy would be 45 per cent in the schemes, while a beneficiary needs to contribute

10 per cent and the rest will be bank loans.

• Farmers will get up to Rs 1.6 lakh with no collateral or bank guarantee and self-help Groups will get up

to Rs 10 lakh.

UP Govt Renamed Kakori Kand to Kakori Train Action

• The Uttar Pradesh government renamed the

movement in the history of India’s freedom

struggle, the ‘Kakori Kand’ to ‘Kakori Train action’

as the word ‘Kand’ denotes a sense of humiliation

to the Independence struggle because ”kand”

(conspiracy).

• Kakori Train action is a train robbery that took

place at Kakori, a village near Lucknow, UP

committed by the Indian freedom fighters against

the British Raj on August 9, 1925.

• UP celebrated the anniversary of the ‘Kakori Train action’ under the program ‘Chauri Chaura Mahotsav’,

which is going to complete 100 years in 2022.

Assam celebrated Wanchuwa Festival 2021

• The Tiwa tribal community living in the

hills celebrated the Wanchuwa festival

2021 in Morten Village in Karbi Anglong

District of Assam.

• This festival is related to agriculture as it

marks a good harvest and also involves

India’s Largest Floating Solar PV Project in Simhadri

• NTPC Ltd launched India’s largest Floating

Solar PV (Photovoltaic) project with the capacity

of 25MW on the reservoir of its Simhadri thermal

power station in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

• The floating solar PV project became the 1st

project to be set up under the Flexibilisation

Scheme, which was notified by the Government of

India in 2018.

• The project was inaugurated by Sanjay

Madan, Regional Executive Director (WR2 & SR), NTPC.

• Simhadri Thermal power Station is the 1st power project to implement an open sea intake from the Bay

of Bengal.

• MyGov under the Ministry of Electronics and

Information Technology along with the United

Nations Women launched the “Amrit Mahotsav

Multi-Partner Trust Fund (COVID-19) Programme.

• The shortlisted 10 nominees will get a grant of

Rs 1 lakh each, to develop the proof of concept of

their idea.

• 5 winners of the challenge will get Rs 5 lakh each, to develop market and implement their solution.

• As per the report, the net profit of Central

• The PE Survey divides CPSEs into 5 sectors viz, Agriculture; Mining & Exploration;

expedition by Divyangjans from across

• As per the report of the Microfinance Institutions Network, the Assam government signed a Memorandum of Understanding with 37 microfinance lenders for joint implementation of the AMFIRS (Assam Micro Finance Incentive and Relief Scheme), 2021 relief scheme in Guwahati, Assam to provide financial relief to more than 20 lakh poor women borrowers of the state, who are not able to return the loan amount to the microfinance institutions

• The AMFIRS, 2021 scheme involves a credit portfolio of Rs 12,000 crore, out of which, the state govt plans to spend around Rs 7,200 crore.

• The borrowers will be provided with a one-time incentive of Rs 25,000 or equal to the outstanding balance, whichever is lower, to help the borrowers in maintaining good credit discipline.

Punjab Govt Chosen SBI General Insurance

• The Punjab Government has chosen SBI General Insurance to expand the health insurance coverage in the state of Punjab under Ayushman Bharat Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana (AB-SSBY).

• SBI General Insurance will collaborate with the state government and provide the cashless health insurance cover of Rs 5 Lakh under AB-SSBY to 40 lakh eligible families in Punjab particularly to the less privileged section.

• Government of India has launched the Startup Accelerator of Meity for Product Innovation, Development & Growth (SAMRIDH) programme to support 300 Information Technology enabled Startups for a period of 6 months.

• It aims to create 100 unicorns out of the selected IT Startups by providing Seed funding, Mentorship and Market access.

• Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (will provide seed funds of upto INR 40 lakh & mentorship for 6 months for the selected startups.

• The programme has been modelled on the basis of Ycombinator, one of the successful startup accelerator programmes started in the United States.

Around 4.4 lakh customers have been benefited through the instantaneous and simplified credit access through Credit@click, the flagship initiative under EASE 3.0.

• The different key initiatives under EASE 4.0 include – Dial a loan, Credit@click, Analytics based credit offer, Partnership with AgriTechs for data exchange, Cloud-based IT system, Process automation, Co-lending with Non-Banking Finance Companies (NBFCs)

• In FY21 the PSBs have reported a profit in FY21 for the 1st time after 5 years of loss. In FY21 they have gained a profit of Rs 31,817 crore compared to a loss of Rs 26,016 crore in FY20.This is the first year when PSBs have reported profit after five years of losses.

• In FY21, the gross non-performing assets (GNPA) of PSBs has been reduced by Rs 62,000 crore to Rs 6.16 lakh crore.

• The government’s 4R strategy of Recognition, Resolution, Recapitalization and Reform has improved the performance of PSBs in FY21.

• Through this, the family pension for a PSB employees’ family will be in the range of Rs 30,000 to Rs 35,000.

• The Government has also approved the proposal to increase PSB employers’ pension under the National Pension System (NPS) from the existing 10 percent to 14 percent.

• General Insurance Business (Nationalisation) Amendment 2021 got assent of the President Ramnath Kovind.

• This bill will amend the General Insurance Business (Nationalisation) Act of 1972.

• The Act was enacted to nationalise all private companies undertaking general insurance business in India and it makes private sector participation in the public sector insurance companies regulated under the Act.

• General Insurance Corporation of India (GIC) was set up under the 1972 Act. The businesses of the companies nationalized under the Act were restructured in four subsidiaries of GIC: (i) National Insurance, (ii) New India Assurance, (iii) Oriental Insurance, and (iv) United India Insurance.

• The Act was amended in 2002 and the control of these four subsidiary companies has been transferred from GIC to the central government, the share holding of the Central Government in the General Insurance Corporation of India and the insurers referred to in section 10A (specified insurers) shall not be less than 51 per cent.

• The Act classifies the General Insurance Business for fire, marine, or miscellaneous insurance. It excludes

• The bill also inserts a new section 31A providing for liability of a director of specified insurer, who is not a whole-time director, in respect of such acts of omission or commission of the specified insurer which has been committed with his knowledge and with his consent.
