Pentecost Sunday The Easter flame opens up this day to Pentecostal fire as we celebrate

the sending of the Spirit who makes us God’s new creation. There is no

return to business as usual, through the action of the Holy Spirit we stand

now, as Jesus did, proclaiming in word and deed the saving love of God

and the coming of God’s reign. Today is not the end of a season, but a

celebration of the mission for which we were baptized. Let our alleluias

continue to ring as we continue this great mission given us by God!

Hoy no

"Marriage is not a sprint" presented by Jon & Hilary Olson

(World Marriage Encounter, Central TX)

If you are going to run a marathon, training has to become a

daily habit or you won’t be able to finish the race - you need to

run every day. Likewise, marriage is not a sprint of frenetic

activity for a short period of time and then it’s over. You don’t

just sprint to the altar and then everything else takes care of

itself. It’s a marathon of every day ‘I dos’ taking advantage of

opportunities to sacrifice and doing things for your spouse. In

this presentation, we will explore ways in which we can 'run

the distance' in our marriage by training every day.

Volunteer of the month for April

Congrats to Crescencio Vega. He was nominated for his many

years of dedication to the parish as a leader for the Spanish

music. You can always count on him to lead music for all litur-

gical events or wherever he is needed. He has served on the

committee for parish festivals in the past and continues to con-

tribute to its success every year. He is very generous with his

time and talents and this parish community appreciates every-

thing he does.
