Transcript of WEEK 6 - St. John's School...July 2014 – 30th June 2015 and will be commencing Kindy in 2019...
Hello Dear Parents and Carers
Today, while your children were ‘at play’ we
teachers and Education Assistants have been busily and productively engaged in extending
our capacity for data analysis. We also explored two of our educational ‘guru’s’, Lyn Sharratt and Michael Fullan, by ‘unpacking’ well researched
components that support growth in student learning known by Lyn and Michael as the 14
Parameters of Learning. A succinct definition of
these parameters states that “... working on the
14 parameters creates a successful professional
and student learning environment that leads to
embracing all 14 parameters as clearly
articulated, evidence-based self-actualization, which results in interdependent practice,
realization...”.
Within today’s newsletter you will see reference to the Easter Raffle being coordinated by the P&F and mention of the Year 4 Class
Evangelisation project – collecting goods for St Vincent De Paul. Thank you, Year 4 class, and
your families, for being so generous hearted and supportive of the class project.
Regards
Mary Bizzaca

Prayer
God of Love, Through this Lenten journey,
Purify my desires to serve you. Free me from any temptations to judge others,
To place myself above others. Please let me surrender even my impatience
with others, That with your love and your grace,
I might be less and less absorbed with myself, And more and more full of the desire to follow you, In laying down my life according to your example.
We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen

New home needed
for lovable puppy
The Woo family have this 11 month old male Kelpie / Staffy. Desexed & microchipped. Fully vaccinated.
He is free to a loving home and experienced dog owner.
“Baxter” is intelligent and playful but needs plenty of exercise and stimulation. Unfortunately he is too active for my elderly mum. No barking issues. Beautiful natured pup.
We would love Baxter to go to a family in the school community so as to allow my son Michael in year six to visit on occasions.
If interested, please call Anita on 0437304551.
On Friday our students from PrePrimary to Year 6 were engaged in mathematical problem solving activities and were suitably challenged while having fun at the same time.
Year 4 Evangelisation Project Here are our Year 4 students stocking the St Vincent de Paul pantry in the Parish Centre with Meg Roche (Coordinator) with food goods they collected during the week. Grateful thanks to the students and their families for supplying the goods.

St John's School Bus Driver Request
Dear Parents,
To assist staff with planning excursions in 2018, we would like
to compile a list of parent or grandparent volunteers who
could potentially drive our school bus for excursions and
school events. Following the compilation of the list, staff would
be able to contact relevant parents to check availability as
they prepare their excursions. This could potentially help us
save money on bus hire and minimise disruptions to other
classes whose teachers are sometimes required to drive the
bus.
If you would be able to help out with bus driving on the odd
occasion when you are available, please send a reply email to
[email protected], including the information
listed below.

Interschool Swimming
Swim Squad Training starts this Thursday 8 March at Bold Park pool and continues until the Interschool Carnival on Monday 9 April at HBF Stadium Please return permission notes this week.
Any parents interested in assisting with the squad training please contact Mrs Washer. We also need some parent cars to help take children to the pool, leaving school at 2.30pm on training days. Thanks to Jacqui Sherlock for her enthusiastic coaching over the last 5 years. Jacqui won't be coaching this year so please let me know if you are interested in helping out.
