Last night, I had the opportunity to attend the Music Recital Concert where students, who are learning a musical instrument through private lessons, were able to perform to their parents and other members of their family. It was great to see those students just beginning the journey, as well as those who have obviously been learning for a number of years and developing their musical skills effectively. It reminds me of the importance of helping our students to appreciate the fact that it takes time and effort to develop your skills and it is only as we apply ourselves that we find success in our achievements. Furthermore. I enjoyed seeing the students supporting one another in their performances. It takes courage to publicly perform, and to hear and see the students providing positive encouragement for one another reminded me of the importance of students valuing and respecting one another and knowing that they can be supportive of each other. Friday will be the final day of Transition for our new Receptions beginning in 2021 and I must say a big thank you to their buddies who have helped to make their transition into the school environment more enjoyable. It is great to see the enthusiasm of students wanting to support those children beginning their schooling at Prescott. Well done to all involved. Sports Day for the Primary students was a great day, but would not have been able to operate effectively without the assistance of our Year 10 and 11 HPE students. Under the guidance of Mr Trent Martin it was wonderful to see our high school students encouraging the younger students to try their best and support them in their different activities. The older students indicated to me that they would like to make this an annual event...it was such fun!! We missed you as parents and hope that by next year further protocols will be able to be implemented by the management of Santos Stadium so you can once again be part of this day with your children. As the school has been able to provide more activities for the students, there has been the opportunities for the students to support one another which I believe is an excellent way for students to learn the value of giving for others. The joy is often so much greater when we are able to genuinely care for others. God encourages us to love others. One of the most simple ways to love is by helping when we see someone in need. Whether it is our time, money or energy, giving to help someone in need is a blessing to ourselves. You never know how a small act of kindness can make a difference for someone else. Be inspired today to be the the act of kindness and light of Christ that those around us need. A big congratulations to Max Farman, Aurora Templer,Madison Brown, Emma Potter and Zoe Jaekel who qualified forthe state championships to be held at SA Athletics Stadium.

The Primary School held their annual Sports Day on Wednesday 28 October at SA Athletics Stadium.

We were blessed with perfect weather and students had a great time participating in their events, which included; Sprints, LongDistance run, Long Jump, Ball Throw and novelty relays. The Year 6 students also participated in Shot-put and Discus. The stadium feltemptier without our parents and grandparents cheering the students on this year.

Fortunately, many of our Year 10 and 11 students offered to assist and were a massive help throughout the day. A memorable momentwas when 3 teams of Year 6 students, 2 teams of secondary students and a team of staff went head-to-head in a relay race.

The staff team ended up being narrow winners in a hard-fought victory. The final result for the winning house this year was extremelyclose! In the end, there were only 61 points that separated all three houses.

Congratulations to the Yellow House (EYRE) for earning the most points and winning the 2020 Sports Day. The final house points at the end of the day were:

    Eyre: 1030 pointsHindmarsh: 976 pointsFlinders: 969 points

A big thank you to all classroom teachers, SSOs and event coordinators for your efforts in ensuring the day was a great success.
