Most recent advice to the community is ‘stay home’. At this time, schools remain open for those students whose parents are in the essential services or who are vulnerable. Social distancing and hygiene practices continue to be diligently practised in the school, for the safety of staff and students on site. As you know, government advice comes out daily. The Australian Government released the COVID-19 app/what’s app last night. Learning from Home All staff have been working hard to develop a suite of learning options to support continuity of learning for all of our students. As you are aware, all parents were emailed this morning by your class teacher with a plan to support ‘Learning from Home’ for the week. The weekly plan is consistent across both the home and school contexts from today. I encourage parents and caregivers to access the Department’s Learning from Home resource which provides practical advice to parents and carers on how best to create and support a productive learning environment in the home. The resource can be accessed via NSW School Updates app and the school’s website (links below) https://bardwelpki-p.schools.nsw.gov.au/ or https://education.nsw.gov.au/teaching-and- learning/curriculum/learning-from-home/advice-to-parents- and-carers If you have any questions, please contact the school during school hours 8.45am- 3.30pm or email the classroom teacher. Staff are currently working on site, at school, under a flexible timetable, and will respond as soon as practicable. Please contact me if you seek support with your Stage One child’s google classroom. You have my email address already as I have already sent explicit instructions and screenshots in support of your child joining this great online platform. I can see 4 students already enrolled at this time. It is also a way of your child staying somewhat connected to their class peers, via their student portal. As always, parents are to remain vigilant when students are on the net.

Dear Parents and or Caregivers, From Tuesday 24 March, which seems so long ago now, the Government and the Department of Education encouraged parents and carers to keep their child, or children, at home in response to COVID-19. The resource can be accessed via NSW School Updates app and the school’s website (links below) https://bardwelpki-p.schools.nsw.gov.au/ or https://education.nsw.gov.au/teaching-and-learning/curriculum/learning-from-home/advice-to-parents-and-carers If you have any questions, please contact the school during school hours 8.45am- 3.30pm or email the classroom teacher.

School newsletters are uploaded to the school website on Mondays. The Department of Education inserts ‘must haves’ in the latest news, on the opening page of the school website. The NSW School Updates app provides up-to-date information on the operational status of schools and provides links to many useful resources.

Finally, I wish to commend the dedication of the staff and the great work they do, particularly in light of our small

school context. There will be a final newsletter next Monday and of course no Learning from Home materials will be

sent over the school holidays.

Kind regards Jo Fulham Principal
