CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Core Class Descriptions

Class Name (Instructor): DescriptionMinistry in the 21st Century (Greg Brown):This class is recommended as a primary entry class for all AIU students. Many of the subjects taught in detail in other classes are touched upon in this course. In this class the Jesus model of ministry is re-established for all followers of Christ in the 21st Century. These concepts include; Every believer is a minister; Ministry takes place in the local church and in the marketplace; Restoration of the Church; Restoration of Ascension Gift Leaders; Understanding the realm of the 7 Mountains in the 21 st Century. This course empowers all believers to engage their destiny to fulfill the Great Commission wherever Christ has planted them in the church or marketplace.

Order in the House (Greg Brown):This class follows the birth of the Church and the emergence of Church leadership through the Book of Acts and the Epistles. In this study we see how the Great Commission was being fulfilled by all the followers of Christ who worked with their leaders. The biblical titles of leadership will be examined and defined in light of their scriptural roles. Through this class we examine the biblical model of Christian leadership including; Qualifications of leaders, Expanding the kingdom of God, Caring for the family of God, and Maintaining sound doctrine. All of this is discussed in light of modern church government practices with the goal of setting local churches back into the foundational order established in the scriptures.

Ascending the 7 Mountains (Greg Brown):This is an excellent class for those who are pursuing their Marketplace Leadership degree. This class explains the 7 Mountains as the spheres of society where we work, live, and interact with others. This class gives a focus to how the Holy Spirit inside of each believer is active to be an effective leader in any sphere of life. Students will learn to identify and apply the equipping gifts, motivational gifts, revelatory gifts, and power gifts of the Holy Spirit in the marketplace and everyday life to be leaders who are ascending to the top of the 7 mountains.

Into the Glory: Taking the Glory to the 7 Mountains (Greg Brown):The Church is moving into a new season. Based upon the promise of Isaiah 60:1-2 God will release the force of glory upon his people when deep darkness covers the earth. Glory is God’s answer to deep darkness. Glory is the realm that Jesus ministered in when he was upon the earth. According to Isaiah 2:2 it is the glory of God that will bring all the people from the various mountains to the great mountain of God. There are different levels of strength in which a person can operate. There are natural abilities, anointing, spiritual gifts, and finally there is a realm known as glory. This realm is where God dwells. In this class the twelve biblical expressions of glory are identified. The three divisions of glory we can access. Finally, the life of Jesus is studied to see how we can carry His glory to the nations.

Page 12: Web viewThis class is recommended as a primary entry class for all AIU students. Many of the subjects taught in detail in other classes are touched upon in this

Praying with Power (Greg Brown):This is an excellent class for individuals who want to learn how to pray for the sick in any setting. It is also for chaplains, pastors and leaders who are asked to serve on prayer teams at churches or conferences that pray for needs. This class will teach each student how to be a conduit of God’s grace and power when praying for people in a one on one setting. Students learn a protocol that is professional in conduct, creates an environment that is safe for the person receiving prayer, and one that quickly accesses the power of heaven to see the works of Jesus take place when we pray.

Effective Public Speaking (Greg Brown):This class is essential for all leadership students. This class prepares our leaders to be effective in communicating orally in any setting. Through the understanding of specific keys to communication students will be able to give oral presentations, present ideas, speak in civic settings and also speak effectively in the church. Every leader will learn how to present ideas efficiently, precisely, and how to use engaging illustrations to capture the attention of an audience. The art of well-prepared introductions leading into a concise body with a closing to persuade will be learned in this class.

7 Laws of Breakthrough (Greg Brown):In this class our students will meet God as the “God of Breakthrough!” Breakthrough is more than a moment of relief; it is the end result of a process which God takes us through. There are several seasons of breakthrough in our lives as we move towards convergence and fulfillment. In this class students learn how to cooperate with God to move into a realm of destiny. The lives of great biblical leaders are used as illustrations with the focus upon the nine life cycles of breakthrough experienced by King David. This class will help our student leaders to discover that the path to experiencing God’s promises is filled with obstacles. These obstacles, designed to stop them, will actually be used by God to develop new gifts and abilities which are necessary to be successful in places of leadership and authority.

Apostolic Leadership-1 (Greg Brown):This is a key class for all our students to understand how the spiritual gift of the apostle works with types of people in many different settings. This includes in the church and the marketplace. In this class the student will learn to identify the characteristics of the different ascension gifts. The emphasis is on how the gift of the apostle works in leadership today. This class helps students understand that this gift is essential in accomplishing God’s plan and is already at work in our midst. The class includes real life examples of how teams work together to accomplish transformation under apostolic leadership and includes the transformational leadership model that empowers everyone on the team as they work together toward a common goal.

Transformational Leadership (Greg Brown):This class includes all the key elements for leaders to learn how to effectively lead others into powerful teams which bring transformation into their community, workplace or church. These skills will be imparted to each of our student leaders; how to build a team instead of performing tasks alone; How to project success and growth within your realm of responsibility; How to lead groups that bring lasting solutions; The importance of both the senior leaders and junior leaders working together on the team; How to recruit volunteers and how to train and equip future leaders; How to build a leadership pipeline for lasting success; and finally, How to resolve conflicts within the team where everyone can stay in harmony while working in a safe environment.

Heart of a Leader (Greg Brown):This class is for every student who intends to lead in the church and in the marketplace. This class is based upon a lifetime study of leaders. This includes those that have been successful and those that have ended in failure. Leadership is more than a position or authority, it is the power to persuade and inspire others to work together for a greater good. Lasting successful leaders have their hearts purified and are passionate about their cause, their people, and their God who has called them into this position. This class will focus upon how the leader’s heart sets the atmosphere for the team through words and actions which everyone observes.

God in the Marketplace (Greg Brown):This is a key introductory class to the concept of God at work in the modern marketplace. The old saying of “Church on Sunday and work on Monday.” Is being replaced with the belief that we are the church 24/7. The Marketplace is shifting all around us. God is in the middle of this change. He has always been involved in the marketplace. Jesus chose twelve apostles from the marketplace and he is still raising up leaders from this arena today. God wants to prepare you to become a key employee in your company. He might be raising you up to be the business owner that leads an industry. Everyone is called to be the light to the world and the marketplace is where you can shine every day. In this class you will learn key skills where you can advance the kingdom through your position in the marketplace.

Strategic Prayer (Becca Greenwood): This is an in depth study teaching students how to get the demonic roots of cultures, geographical areas and people groups. It also then provides techniques and strategies to do spiritual warfare breaking the bonds of chains that keep those cultures, areas and people free from the schemes of the enemy.

Let Our Children Go (Becca Greenwood):We must not assume that our children are free of threats from darkness. The enemy’s purpose is to grip and blind every generation, establishing strongholds in our children’s lives from a very young age. Let Our Children Go is for parents, pastors, and leaders to help free children from evil influences and demonic harassment. It explains the necessity of deliverance ministry for children and discusses many of the issues they face in today’s world. You will learn how to:

Determine if an evil spirit is harassing a child Deal with demonic influences and harassment when they occur Train children to identify demonic activity and eliminate it from their lives

Darkness is on the rise, and it is the role of parents, pastors, and other believers to do all we can to ensure the blessing, protection, and freedom of this younger generation so that they can reach their fullest potential.

Defeating the Strongholds of the Mind (Becca Greenwood):

We have all experienced battles with thoughts that need to be diffused and defeated. We have all battled mental strongholds, though we may not have realized it. A stronghold of the minds is a lie that Satan has established in our thinking that we count as true but is actually a false belief. When we embrace these lies, they affect our attitudes, emotions, and behaviors.

God wants all of His children to walk in victory and freedom in their thoughts lives. However, the Bible tells us that we have an evil and deceptive enemy who is “the father of lies and all that is false”. (John 8:44 AMP)

In teaching Defeating Strongholds of the Minds, Rebecca explains how Satan traps us in lies and false perceptions. Join her during this course as she discusses how to partner with God, enter into worship, and embrace our Kingdom identity to gain victory through:

Identifying thinking patterns that can become strongholds Explaining how certain types of entertainment can negatively influence our thinking Offering specific prayers to bring victory in the mental battles we fight Sharing stories from people who have overcome the deceptions, struggles, and strongholds in

their minds

Out of the Box Evangelism (Cheryl Davies):

5 Fingers of God (Mark Tubbs):Have you ever asked the question, "What is my purpose in life?" This course uses a Bible verse to show you five personality types that are a blueprint to your destiny. In Ephesians 4:11 it lists the leadership roles that are necessary to build and mature. Once you discover which of these five are operating in your life you will see more clearly what you were created for. For years people have viewed the Fivefold for only those in church leadership. However, Ephesians 4:7 states, "Now to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it." In other words, we all have different measures of these gifts.

Charting Your Prophetic Destiny (J/M Nelson):This course teaches you how to position yourself to enter into your God-given destiny by learning to hear the supernatural voice of God through dreams, visions, and encounters with the Holy Spirit. There will also be a time of impartation and activation to move in the miracle power of God. Please bring the sick and those in need of God’s healing power to the night services as they will be open healing and prophetic nights.

Inspirational Teaching (Loraine Coleman):In this class you will learn how to create and present an effective lesson. Tools are taught to keep learners engaged and interested as well as give meaningful instruction.

Apostolic Centers Arising (Robert Heidler):In 2001 Missiologist Dr. C. Peter Wagner declared that there was enough empirical evidence to declare that the greatest church growth movement in the earth today is through apostles and apostolic centers. This is not a different phenomenon, but a restoration of the church to the original format that brought the gospel to the entire known world in the first century. In this class our students learn how to identify apostolic centers and how to properly align with them for the purpose of expanding the God’s Kingdom in the earth today.

Focuses on discovering God's destiny plan for your life, formalizing that plan, making adjustments as needed, and reproducing breakthroughs God has shown you in other people's lives. This is a journey on hearing, training, exploring, re-calculating, and forging ahead to achieve your God given destiny through victory in the Holy Spirit. This class walks you through the necessary, applicable steps to help you identify God’s assignment for you here on earth. Once that is established, we work on creating a strategic plan in God given faith. We learn to hear and set Holy Spirit inspired objectives that enable you to reach major milestones that you have been working towards for years. After the initial breakthrough, you will learn how to maintain the breakthrough and even expand the vision and multiply supernatural breakthroughs for others. In fact, in this class you learn how you are benefiting from the supernatural breakthroughs in my personal journey and how you get to equip yourself from these hard fought spoils of war and use them on a daily basis.
