MONTHLY REPORT – OCTOBER 2019
The Pre-RDC – I Camp at KSOU was attended by JSSLC cadets (Miss Priyanka, Miss
K.K. Dechamma, Miss Pavithra, Miss Aarthi, Miss Swathi and Mr Prahan Singh)
between 27.9.19 and 6.10.19.
Smt Sheela Ganesh, Course Teacher – Economic Offences organised a special lecture
under the banner of IQAC, on ‘Overcoming Substance Abuse’ by Swami
Yuketeshanandji, Correspondent, Ramakrishna Vidyasharam, Mysuru addressing V
Semester B.A. and B.B.A., LL.B students. Dr S. Nataraju, Principal, staff and 120
students were present.
Staff meeting was convened on 1.10.19 to discuss on new question paper pattern.
Research Group – ORGAN under the banner of IQAC banner arranged for a talk on
Investor Awareness by Ms. Namrata Arora, Director, Knowire Learning Academy
addressing VII Semester B.A., LL.B students on 3.10.19.

The 150th Mahatma Gandhiji and Sri. Lal Bhadhur Shastri Jayanthi Celebration was
observed on 2.10.19.
On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti Rotaract Club of our college in association Rotary
Mysuru North, Youth for Seva and Inner Wheel conducted a plastic awareness
program at the historic Dufferin clock tower near Devaraja Market, Mysuru on
2.10.19. Rtn. Udai S. Kumar, President - Rotary Mysuru North, Rtn. Ravi K, Secretary
– Rotary Mysuru North, JSSLC Rotaract members and other were present. In the
programme eco-friendly bags were distributed to the public who were carrying
flowers, vegetables, fruits etc in plastic covers, in exchange of plastic carry bags.
Apart from general awareness on ill-effects of use of plastics, the members also took
pledge to reduce the use of plastic and ensure separation of dry and wet waste to
help in preserving the environment.
JSSLC moot court club had organised Mock Trial handled by student member on
3.10.19 for Freshers’, around 200 students participated in it.
Dr S. Nataraju, Principal and Dr N. Vani Shree attended one day State Level
Workshop on NAAC: RAF organised by Government of Karnataka (Department of
Collegiate Education) Office of the Regional Joint Director, Mysuru and D.

The Air Wing Cadets (Miss Payal, Mr Prahan, Miss M T Ponnamma, Miss K.K.

were selected and participated at the DASARA PARADE at Bannimantap Grounds on
7.10.19 and 8.10.19.

Exhibition was organised by Smt G. Asmathunnisa, Course Teacher – Land Laws along
with V Semester B.A., and B.B.A., LL.B and III Semester LL.B students on Land Laws
on 10.10.19 at Silver Jubilee Hall, in which 150 students participated.
Prof P. Shivananda Bharati delivered Special Lecture on E.P.F and E.S.I Benefits
addressing students of Gems B School, Mysuru on 11.10.19.
Exhibition was organised by Smt G. Asmathunnisa, Course Teacher – Property Law
along with VII Semester B.A., and B.B.A., LL.B and III Semester LL.B students on
Property Law on 12.10.19 at Silver Jubilee Hall, in which 155 students participated.
Smt Swapna Jangamshetti presented a paper titled ‘A critical study on Uniform Civil
Code and Social transformation’ in National Seminar on ‘Law and Social
Transformation in India – Issues and Challenges’ organised by Vidyavardhaka Law
College, Mysuru on 12.10.19.
Dr N. Vani Shree participated and presented a paper titled ‘Constitution – A living
charter to facilitate community revolution’ at the one day National Seminar on ‘Law

and Social Transformation in India – Issues and Challenges’ organised by
Vidyavardhaka Law College, Mysuru on 12.10.19.
Moot Court Club and Smt P. Ashwini, Cooridnator – Moot Court Club organised a
Training Session on ‘Criminal Trials and its stages’ by Advocate T.P. Dharmendra,
Resource Person on 12.10.19 addressing moot court club members, in which nearly
200 students participated.
Sri A.T. Jagadish, Coordinator organised Young Entrepreneurs Panel Discussion on
15.10.19 with panel members from Yi-Yuva consisting of Miss Ramya Bopanna, Miss
Akshara Kumar, Mr Ravikumar and Miss Sharada Pathak was the Moderator of the
session.
On account of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s birth anniversary and international students’
day, the Blood Donation Camp was organised by JSSLC Rotaract Club in association
with HDFC Bank, JSS Hospital, NSS, MYCAB under the banner of IQAC in the college
premises on 16.10.19. Dr Pallavi, Blood Bank Officer, Dr Apoorva Gowda, Dr S.
Nataraju, Principal, Prof M. P. Nagendra Murthy, Faculty Coordinator were present.
70 students donated blood during the camp.

Flying Officer (Dr) N. Vani Shree along with 15 cadets of 4 Kar Ari Sqn NCC had been
to Jakkar aerodrome for flying activity of (ZenAir) on 17.10.19.
Elocution Competition was held on 17.10.19 at in the Silver Jubilee Hall, jointly
organised by Central Vigilance Committee, Mysuru and BEML, Mysuru and hosted by
JSS Law College. The Elocution Competition was conducted as part of Vigilance
Awareness Week with the following theme – Integrity – A way of life and the topic
for the competition was ‘Policy/Procedure and Laws in place is sufficient in
eradicating corruption’. Mr. D.R. Raghu, Assistant General Manager, BEML, Mr R.
Sudheer, Assistant General Manager – BEML, Mr. R. Muralidhar, Deputy General
Manager – Vigilance, BEML, Mr. T.P.Nikhil, Senior Manager – BEML, Mr Ramesh,
BEML, Dr S. Nataraju, Principal, Smt G. Asmathunnisa, Coordinator and staff and
students were present. 38 students participated in the competition and the winners
are as follows: Miss Rashmi Yesudas, VII Semester B.B.A., LL.B secured First place and
won cash prize of Rs. 2000/-; Miss Bhuvaneshwari, VII Semester B.A., LL.B and Miss
Shelbi Vincent, VII Semester B.B.A., LL.B shared the Second place and won cash prize
of Rs. 1500/- and Mr Parry Mohan, III Semester B.A., LL.B secured Third place and
won cash prize of Rs. 1000/-.

JSS Law College hosted the Karnataka State Law University Inter Collegiate Football
Tournament Cum Selection Trials -2019 in association with Karnataka State Law
University, Hubballi, on 18.10.19 and 19.10.19. Dr Ramani, International Football

Player and Ex-Director of Physical Education, NLSIU, Bengaluru was the Chief Guest,
presided by Sri Krishnegowda, Physical Education Director, Vidyavardhaka Law
College, Mysuru. Dr Revanna, Physical Education Director, SJCE, Mysuru, Dr C.
Venkatesh, Chariman, Department of Studies in Physical Education and Sports
Science, University of Mysore, Dr Khalid Khan, Director, Department of Physical
Education of KSLU, Hubballi, Dr S. Nataraju, Principal, Sri Suresh Kumar, Physical
Education Director, JSSLC and other faculty were present. Sri Kantharaju, Physical
Education Director, Shivamoga and Sri Kumar, Physical Education Director,
Vivekananda Law College, Bengaluru were designated on the selection committee
members. The Tournament was held at the University of Mysuru, Football Ground,
Mysuru. Nearly 17 teams and four students registered and enrolled for selection.
These teams were flanked by 15 Physical Directors and managers. Following are the
details of the winning teams: First Place – M.S. Ramaiah College of Law. Bengaluru,
Second Place – B.M.S College of Law, Bengaluru, Third Place – JSS Law College,
Mysuru.

On 21.10.19 Smt P. Ashwini, Course Teacher – Media Law arranged a Special Lecture
on ‘Advertisements and Law’ by Smt Pramila B Kannur, Associate Professor and HOD
of Communication and Journalism Department, Maharaja College, Mysuru
addressing students of VII Semester B.A. and B.B.A., LL.B comprising 120 students.
Moot Court Club and Smt P. Ashwini, Coordinator – Moot Court Club conducted
‘Researcher’s Test in view of Intra-collegiate moot competition on 17.10.19.
JSS Law College Intra-Collegiate Moot Court Competition 2019 was conducted during
23.10.19 and 26.10.19, nearly 42 teams participated in it and the following are the
details: Winning team - comprising Miss Neeraja Rajesh, Mr Akshay Mithantiya of V
Semester B.B.A., LL.B and Miss Lisma Joshna of III Semester LL.B. Runners’ up team –
comprising Mr Harshad Jain, Miss Prajwala and Miss Gazala Kulsoom of VII Semester
B.A., LL.B. Also one of the alumni of our college offered to provide a cash award of
Rs. 5000/- to the winning team in the competition. Finals round was judged by Smt
Saraswathi Vishnu Kosandar, VII Additional District and Sessions Judge, Mysuru and
Sri Jerald Rudolph Mendonca, II Additional District and Sessions Judge, Mysuru.

Miss Swathi and Miss Pavithra) between 21.10.19 and 30.10.19.
The Green Guide wing of the college has adopted the animal (GOLDEN JACKAL) for a
period of one year by making payment of Rs. 20,000/- under Animal Adoption
Scheme of Mysuru Zoo (the contribution was made by the staff and students).
Prof P. Shivananda Bharati delivered Special Lecture on Boot Contracts addressing
ICWAI students at ICWAI, Mysuru on 22.10.19.
The Parents’ Committee meeting was held on 22.10.19 in the Board room of the
college at 3.00 pm. Parent committee members (9 parents’ represented), Prof K.S.
Suresh, Chief Executive, Dr S. Nataraju, Principal, senior faculty members and Smt
M.S. Nandhini – Coordinator – Parents’ Committee were present on this occasion.

Students’ Awards/Accomplishments/Participation
Miss Hrishika Suresh, Miss Chirag Shekhawat of V Semester B.B.A., LL.B and Miss
Swathi Ganesh of III Semester B.B.A., LL.B participated in the 10 th National Moot
Court Competition 2019, organised by School of Law, CHRIST, Bengaluru from
13.9.19 to 15.9.19.
The final year students of our college have adopted a ‘White Peacock’ by making
payment of Rs. 3,500/- for a period of one year under the Animal Adoption Scheme
of Mysuru Zoo.
Miss R. Bagyapriya, V Semester B.A., LL.B has adopted a ‘Common Peafowl’ by
paying Rs. 3,500/- for a period of one year under the Adoption Scheme of Mysuru
Zoo on her birthday.
Mrs Suvarna, IV Semester LL.M has adopted ‘Love Birds’ by paying Rs. 1,000/- under
the Adoption Scheme of Mysuru zoo for a period of one year on the occasion of her
daughter’s birthday.
Miss Yogitha.B.Raj of V Semester B.B.A., LL.B participated in the State Level Dasara
Sports Meet held at Mysore on 1.10.2019 she secured First Place in Long Jump and
First Place in Steeple chase Run.
The College Basket Ball team participated in Mysore city Inter Collegiate Basket ball
Tournament organized by NIE College, Mysore held on 2.10.2019.
The College Shuttle Badminton Men & Women Teams participated in Karnataka
State Law University Inter Collegiate Shuttle Badminton Tournament held on 4.10.19
and 5.10.19 at VSR Law College, Ballari. The Women Team secured Third Place and
Miss Richa III Semester B.A., LL.B has been selected for Karnataka State Law
University Badminton Team.

The College Cricket team participated in Mysore city Inter Collegiate Cricket
Tournament organized by NIE College, Mysore held on 3.10.19 and 10.10.2019 at
Sports Pavilion cricket ground.
Miss Amaya Dhamodaran, Mr Akash Thakur of V Semester B.B.A., LL.B and Miss P.
Supreetha of III Semester B.A., LL.B participated in the 9th Institute of Law National
Moot Court Competition organised and held at NIRMa University, Ahmedabad
during 11.10.19 to 13.10.19.
Miss V. Chinmayi, Miss Pooja R Ganjigatti of VII Semester B.B.A., LL.B and Miss
Meghana Patel of VII Semester B.A., LL.B participated in the 1st REVA National Moot
court Championship 2019 organised by REVA University, Bengaluru held on 11.10.19
and 12.10.19, and secured third place in the moot court competition.
Miss Reshma Menon and Miss Ponnamma of VII Semester B.B.A., LL.B participated
and presented a paper titled ‘Law as a reformatory mechanism of society’ at the one
day National Seminar on ‘Law and Social Transformation in India – Issues and
Challenges’ organised by Vidyavardhaka Law College, Mysuru on 12.10.19.

Competition organised by Lahari Law Academy, Bengaluru on 12.10.19.
Mr P. S. Veeresh, Mr C. Thapo Shreshta and Miss Anindita Angadi of III Semester
B.A., LL.B participated in the 22nd Sri. S. C. Javali Moot Court Competition organised
by Sir. Siddappa Kambali Law College, Dharwad during 19.10.19 and 20.10.19 and Mr

P. S. Veeresh won the Best Gentleman Speaker Award from Hon’ble Justice Mr. J.
Deepak Mishra.
Miss Akshaya Shaju, Miss Anjana Tharur of III Semester B.B.A., LL.B and Mr P.V. Arjun
of V Semester B.A., LL.B participated in the 13 th Pro Bono Enviro International Law
Moot Court Competition organised by Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University
School of Excellence in Law, Chennai in association with the Tamil Nadu Pollution
Control Board held between 18.10.19 and 20.10.19.
24.10.19 – 30 students from our college attended and participated in the Workshop
for Law students on Environmental Protection and Legal Enforcement Challenges
organised by Akhil Bhrathiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Mysuru in association with District
Legal Services Authority Bar Association, Mysuru on 24.10.19 held at Samskruthi,
ABVP Office, Mysuru.
