ENG 208-02 FALL 2016 Wed. Nov. 30, Week 14-2 "Autoethnography is an approach to research and writing that seeks to describe and systematically analyze personal experience in order to understand cultural experience. This approach challenges canonical ways of doing research and representing others and treats research as a political, socially-just and socially-conscious act. A researcher uses tenets of autobiography and ethnography to do and write autoethnography. Thus, as a method, autoethnography is both process and product." Carolyn Ellis, Tony E. Adams & Arthur P. Bochner, from Qualitative Social Research Forum

Introduction that shows how the writer entered the subculture:BellaSee opening paragraphs

Organically integrating researched facts, (Although still needs hyperlink)Mary

"There are many mixed feelings about the “hookup culture”, as some like to call it. “Feelings after a typical hookup: 35 percent reported feeling regretful or disappointed, 27 percent good or happy, 20 percent satisfied, 11 percent confused, 9 percent proud, 7 percent excited or nervous, 5 percent uncomfortable, and 2 percent desirable or wanted (Paul & Hayes, 2002).” So why do so many people stay in this “hookup culture”? I experienced it for about a year. I was single from May 2015 to August 2016, and let me tell you: I hated it. I rarely took part in the one night random hookup. I found myself seeking “things” with guys who wanted to have unlimited access to you without the commitment. Still, not very satisfying. I think I hooked up with someone new, someone “random”, once… Maybe twice. After that I found guys to occupy my time for a month or so at a time. Then things get complicated and the risk of feelings would appear, or the guy just disappears, as in my experience. Finally, when I decided I wanted more, I withdrew myself from the entire idea of hooking up completely. Then, I met Kyle."
