The Beef Production - Entrepreneurship Proficiency is sponsored by Nasco. Cortney's SAE started once she joined FFA and purchased her first show heifer. Since then, she has developed her herd of Simmental, Percentage Simmental, and Charolais cattle. As her herd grew, so did Cortney’s responsibilities. Cortney handles the traditional daily tasks of feeding and watering, but vaccinates, detects heats, and manages the breeding program. Cortney's favorite time of year is calving season! She enjoys caring for the newborns and their mothers. She works hard to manage her herd and prepare them for the show season by washing and exercising her livestock. Each summer, Cortney exhibits her hard work at the county fair, Wisconsin State Fair, and World Beef Expo. She takes pride in her ability to own and properly show her cattle and by setting an example for youth in the beef industry. Her advisor is Mark Zimmerman.
