Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor said this round would place a particular focus on conserving privately-owned heritage sites that may have suffered significant visitor downturn due to COVID-19.

“Heritage site owners, managers and support organisations are invited to apply for grants of between $25,000 and $400,000 to conserve national and world heritage listed places.

“Funding can be used for a range of activities to protect and strengthen the natural, historic and cultural values of a site, or to enhance visitor experiences that encourage people to share our national heritage treasures.”

The new round of grants complements the $33.5 million package recently announced to support heritage infrastructure projects as part of the Australian Government’s $1 billion COVID Relief and Recovery Fund.

Applications for the 2020-21 grants round will close on 7 January 2021. To find out more and apply, visit: https://www.business.gov.au/assistance/australian-heritage-grants

Grants Available in November 2020headed Flying-fox was identified as one of 119 species requiring urgent intervention. Flying-foxes are important long range pollinators and crucial to healthy ecosystems. This program is specifically designed to increase veterinary capacity to treat flying-foxes, as veterinary staff must be vaccinated to treat flying-foxes. Wildlife rescuers and carers rely heavily on the generosity of veterinary clinics and wildlife hospitals to triage and treat injured flying-foxes. Flying-foxes often come into care with severe injuries from entanglement and swift treatment is crucial to their survival.Flying-foxes are highly susceptible to heat stress, with mass deaths and mass rescues unfortunately becoming more common in summer months, as entire colonies can be severely affected.WIRES encourages veterinary staff near colonies that are keen to regularly help treat flying-foxes, to become vaccinated and help save these critical species. This Vaccination Grant Program includes the initial vaccinations required, which will need to be administered by a medical professional. Applicants will also need to discuss the plans with their doctor to confirm their doctor supports them receiving the vaccinations.Contact DetailsKristie

MEDIA RELEASE Monday 9th

November 2020 FREE PRESCHOOL FOR FAMILIES Working families and young children in the Goulburn electorate will benefit from a year of free preschool with the NSW Government announcing funding for community preschools in 2021. This $120 million commitment will help more than 44,000 three to five year olds attending community preschool. Member for Goulburn Wendy Tuckerman said the free preschool program has been supporting families since the beginning of the pandemic and was providing certainty for parents into the future. “Since the initial announcement of our COVID-19 response, the free preschool program has saved countless services and jobs in the region while keeping our children learning during their most important years,” Mrs Tuckerman said. This funding will assist families to get on with working and support them to divert family income into other essentials. “Families will have certainty moving into 2021, knowing that regardless of their financial situation their child will be able to continue with their preschool education,” said Mrs Tuckerman. Early childhood services opting into this program must continue to remain open and available to provide education and care. This is particularly important for children as families return to work.

RAS Foundation Community Futures Grant

As bushfires ravage our countryside and drought continues to decimate our farming communities the RASF is focussing on recovery for rural and regional New South Wales. The 2020 Community Futures Grant program is offering assistance to bushfire and drought impacted areas, with funds for rebuilding and support for vital community projects.

What is the RASF Community Futures Grant?

The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW Foundation (RASF) is offering an opportunity for community-minded people to be awarded up to $25,000 in funding for drought and bushfire recovery community projects in their local area.

Previously funding has gone to projects including air-conditioning in the local hall to portable yard panels for the showground or a pop-up gazebo, satisfying community needs and benefiting many. This year the funding is targeting regional recovery following the destruction of community facilities and projects devastated by the ongoing drought and current bushfire crisis.

Taking part is easy:

Identify a need in your rural NSW community

Strengthening Rural Communities

The Strengthening Rural Communities (SRC) program aims to give the thousands of small rural, regional and remote communities across Australia an opportunity to access funding to support broad community needs. Given the events of summer 2019/20, it has also been expanded to offer funding to support recovery in bushfire-affected communities.

The program criteria are deliberately flexible, and designed to be able to help communities address different needs and opportunities, as and when they emerge.

Grants are available for a broad range of grassroots, community-led initiatives that directly and clearly benefit local communities. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and assessed quarterly.

Funding streams

Thanks to the generous support of our donor partners, there are currently two funding streams available:

1. Small & Vital - up to $10,000 grants available. Communities in non-metropolitan areas with fewer than 15,000 people are prioritised.
