Task:

Create a painting using watercolour that incorporates a silhouette of your spirit animal, a moon/sun, and uses a wash technique.

Directions:

1. Choose your spirit animal. Consider qualities or behaviours you may have in common, or a special bond or encounter you may have had with that animal.

2. Find a silhouette of your chosen animal or choose from one of the animals offered in class.

3. Sketch your design. Must include a silhouette of your animal and a moon/sun. Ensure you are making good use of space and your composition and layout are successful.

4. Plan your background colours. You will use an analogous colour scheme (colours in the same family). These colours should be related to your personality and who you are.

5. Get teacher approval.

6. Begin sketching on watercolour paper – very lightly.

7. Get teacher approval, begin painting using the techniques taught in class.

8. Complete reflection.

Technique – Shows excellent application of watercolour and drawing techniques. Paint is applied thinly without unwanted blotches or streaks. Just enough water is used in order to prevent buckling of paper. Frisket is applied properly. Silhouette animal is painted neatly.
