IMPROV ED SAMPLE CHARACT ERIZATION

The 2998 Photodiode Array (PDA) Detector uniquely integrates software and optics innovation to deliver no-compromise chromatographic and spectral sensitivity. The exceptional signal-to-noise ratios, high-sensitivity library matching, and high optical and digital resolution enables the 2998 PDA Detector to map low levels of compounds and determine trace impurity levels within a compound’s peak. Additionally, it has a wide linear dynamic range that allows for simultaneous quantification of high and low level components within a single chromatographic separation.

The 2998 PDA Detector is reliable, easy-to-use and has enhanced software control to provide flexibility for simultaneous 2D and 3D operation with either Empower or MassLynx Software.

While the design of most PDA detectors can only distinguish between compounds possessing comparatively large spectral differences, the 2998 PDA Detector can differentiate between the spectra of closely-related compounds. When combined with the ACQUITY QDa Mass Detector, you now have information rich mass spectral data to complement your current Waters PDA, UV/Vis, ELS, and Conductivity Detector that gives you a more complete separation.

SENSIT IV IT Y AND SELECT IV IT Y

The 2489 UV/Visible (UV/Vis) Detector is an ultraviolet/visible detector that provides superior sensitivity and linear dynamic range which are needed for the detection of even the lowest-level impurities. The design for the most sensitive and versatile dual wavelength absorbance detector combines a high energy Deuterium source, a precise optical design, and low noise, high speed electronics to ensure performance, reliability and usability.

The 2475 Fluorescence (FLR) Detector offers unsurpassed flexibility whether you are doing routine analysis or method development. It is the ideal tool for high sensitivity methods due to its low limits of repeatable quantification coupled with its high selectivity for analytes in complex matrices. Waters unique axially illuminated flow cell minimizes unwanted light scatter and dispersion compared to a traditional cubic flow cell. The 2475’s unique calibration procedure for the photomultiplier tube and the ability to report detector signal in emission units (EU) help reduce the variability traditionally observed from detector to detector.

The complementary nature of our HPLC/UHPLC Detectors provides you with all the tools needed to ensure the right answers to your analysis.

The 2489 UV/Vis Detector provides excellent signal-to-noise response for methods which require low levels of sensitivity, such as found in this example of Irbesartan and its related impurities.

The use of the 2475 Fluorescence Detector allows for selectivity and sensitivity of compounds. In this example, beta blockers have no UV response, making the 2475 the perfect detector choice for analysis of the sample.

THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE RIGHT JOB

Laboratories around the world continue to rely on HPLC to properly quantify their samples. When combining the Alliance HPLC or the ACQUITY Arc systems with the 2424 Evaporative Light Scattering (ELS) and the 2414 Refractive Index (RI) detectors, we provide users the benefit of detecting compounds that have poor to no UV/Vis response or analytes that do not ionize well under mass spectrometry.

The 2414 RI Detector provides the highest sensitivity, stability and reproducibility of any RI detector on the market. Waters innovative counter-current heat exchanger quickly equilibrates temperature differences between the solvent stream entering and exiting the flow cell. The unique temperature control prevents fluctuations in viscosity and refractive index to allowing for repeatable measurements even at lower concentrations. The 2414 RI Detector completes a total sample-centric solution for a wide variety of analyses.

The 2424 ELS Detector balanced design delivers reproducible quantification for semi-volatile components without adding high dispersion to fast LC separations. It has been designed with active nebulizer heating and cooling, auto-optimize gain function and optional external column heater control to maximize your method performance. The detector’s compatibility with gradient analysis allows for a wider separation range of your samples.
