Electronic Program Guide (EPG) Scanning

During user interaction with the Set-Top-Box. HTTP, RSTP and IGMP running on top of IP are used to deliver real time MPEG video/audio to the attached TV set, including live channel / video on demand.

WatchiTV emulates the IPTV client for Internet web page access or FTP download, and LiveTV/NVoD service test running in paralel. This function enables you to verify the content broadcasted to the STB/client TV set, without using the client TV or bringing a TV monitor to the customer site. All is verified very easy on the engineer’s notebook computer.

The Channel Scanning function provides a handy tool for the engineer in order to ensure that all available channels are accessible. The Channel Scanning also provides information on “first packet arrival time” for each single channel after the IGMP join message has been transmitted. This function will benefit the engineer during optimization of the channel zapping time.

WatchiTV provides you with video/audio and recording/playback functions allowing you to store the problematic MPEG-2 stream into your hard disk. Recordings are stored with time stamps and the stream source IP address, using the advanced trigger condition (trigger reacts on degrading quality e.g. PCR jitter and/or packet loss).

IP Transport - IPTV System Performance

With WatchiTV you can view full duplex traffic statistics per second, in graphics displayed dynamically. WatchiTV uses control/response command detection from the client STB, video server or Middelware, including information on exchanging of DRM security access keys.

Auto-discovers all IP provisional parameters used for the STB IP gateway, including booting server and mount path.

ALQI - ADSL Loop Quality Information As an optional feature AnaCise offers the ALQI - ADSL Loop Quality Information package, for your WatchiTV portable suite. The ALQI - ADSL Loop Quality Information is a tialor made option that will enhance the scope of IPTV troubleshooting signigficantly, it is especially usefull during IPTV service installation and verification of SLA.In the event of a degrading IPTV service you are now able to narrow down the exact area of a given problem.

With the ALQI - ADSL Loop Quality Information package you have the option of eliminating the last mile as a potential problem area in just a single glance. By integrating the count of line errors per second directly into the MPEG Traffic Stream analysis, WatchiTV gives you even more accurate troubleshooting advice. Look at the Jitter or PID loss and compare against the ATUR status then you will immediately know if the last mile has a problem.

ALQI - ADSL Loop Quality Information is also the ideal tool for SLA verification as it gives you the pricise picture of the ADSL loop including line status information such as error per second and S/N margin statistics in graphics display.

ALQI is an enhancement of your comprehensive WatchiTV portable suite. By adding the ALQI option you are now able to get an even clearer picture of IPTV health status in terms of the last mile access. Instead of bringing the typical handheld ADSL tester to the customer site, which has no correlation to the MPEG stream, you are now able correlate line status information, from DSLAM to the ATU-R modem with the MPEG stream thus making your troubleshooting or SLA verification very easy. This option let you detect a potential degrading of MPEG quality easily thus keeping your SLA and overall IPTV quality on top in a competitive market.
