Washington is a state in the Pacific
Northwest region of the United States located
north of Oregon west of Idaho and south of
the Canadian province of British Columbia on the
coast of the Pacific Ocean.

The state of Washington has almost 14,000
hectares of vineyards. Two-third of vineyards
were planted with concort to make grape-juice.
The state is famous because its white wine made
with alive and fresh fruit and riesling with aromas
of apricot. Also, the red wine, merlot, is interesting
because the merlot wine has an aroma of berry
and cabernet sauvignon whose fruit are amazing .
The grape ripen slowly under the sun whose
climate is hot because the latitude is northern
northern. This clamete are interesting aromas and
tastes of fruit.

nation . The state is interesting because his white
wine. Washington has a lot of hectares with
Chardonnay grapes.
Washington has a good climate for a fresh and good
grapes, because, this state has rainy weather. In

Washington ranks second in theUnited States in
the production of wine, behind only California.

COLUMBIA VALLEY
This is the largest vineyards of the region. This
region takes up 7 regions more. It received its
designation in 1984, and has more than 16,000
vineyard acres and 100 wineries.
Specialties: chardonnay, riesling, cabernet

PUGET SOUND
This region close to Seattle. There are over
100 wineries here, but only 130 vineyard
acres. A lot of wineries bought grapes of
other region . Puget Sound vineyards
feature unusual grapes and varietals
(varietals: Wine elaborated with a one type
of grape).
Specialties: Madeline Angevine, Muller
Thurgau, Siegerrebe, Pinot Noir and Pinot
Gris.

COLUMBIA GORGE
This place has a lot of wineries because
Columbia Gorge teep cliffs whose a
temperature- moderating river and volcanic
soil have proven a hospitable and good
clime.In addition this place has 350
vineyard acres and about 15 wineries.
Specialties: chardonnay, gewürztraminer,
riesling, pinot gris, pinot noir and
zinfandel.

This was the state's first American
Viticultural Area, established in 1983. There
are 11,000 vineyard acres and more than 65
wineries.
Specialties: chardonnay, riesling, merlot,

WALLA WALLA VALLEY
Walla Walla is more interesting because the
wine has been growing because the irrigated
vineyards produces excellent big, red wines.
Located in the southeastern corner of
Washington State
Walla Walla received its American
Viticultural Area designation in 1984
This place has more than 1,200 vineyard acres
and over 100 wineries.

WALLA WALLA VALLEY

RED MOUNTAIN
It was creating in 2001. Red Mountain is
Washington's smallest wine area in terms of
the number of wineries. It has a 700
vineyards acres.

HORSE HEAVEN HILLS
Horse Heaven Hills is in south-central
Washington, tucked in under the Yakima
Valley and extending down towards the
Columbia Gorge.
It there are 6,000 vineyard acres and twenty
wineries.
Specialties: Cabernet sauvignon, merlot,
syrah, riesling, chardonnay and sauvignon
blanc.

With 1,500 acres of vineyards, and about 20
wineries, the area provides many
Washington wine makers with their grapes.

SNIPES MOUNTAIN
It's in the Yakima Valley wine area, just
below Rattlesnake Hills, and it's small.
There's only one winery here, Upland Estates,
and just 665 vineyard acres, but the diversity
in such a small space is impressive because
there are a 30 different wine varieties are
grown here.

LAKE CHELAN
Lake Chelan became an American
Viticultural Area (AVA) in 2009.
The lake for which the area is named
moderates the temperature in the area, and
there are now 15 wineries here and some 260
vineyard acres.
Specialties: Syrah, Merlot, Malbec, Riesling,
Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer, Chardonnay,
and Pinot Noir.
