The maritime world becoming a digital
world
Timo LehtinenGeneral Manager Asset Performance Optimisation, Services
Advances in digital technology
especially in networking and connectivity
are changing the world at an
unprecedented pace. For the marine and
energy sectors specifically, the
consequences of digitalisation will be so
significant as to produce a new industrial
revolution. We are just now entering an
era where minds and machines by
connecting in new ways will transform
the way we move and power the world.

Keynote
Smart Power Generation
Jacob KlimstraSenior Energy and Engine Specialist
The large scale introduction of
renewable energy sources of an
intermittent character creates substantial
new challenges for the power generation
sector. Reciprocating engines with fuel
injection have unique properties for
balancing and stabilising the power grid.
This means that there will be a revival in
using reciprocating engines for electricity
generation.
LNG the revolution of marine fuel
for the shipping business!
Frank HarteveldGeneral Manager Fuel Gas Handling
The long experience of Wrtsil in dual
fuel engine technology has been a direct
trigger many years ago, where LNG was
announced to be a potential replacement
for conventional fuels. Commercial and
technical feasibility were for a long time
points of long debates, while today many
ship owners have selected LNG as a
new marine fuel, contributing to
sustainability. Wrtsil is proud to be the
innovative market leader in this new
technology and shall present during this
event their optimized 2nd generation
LNGPac.
