WAITING IN EXPECTATION - Infant Jesus Parish,...

Dear Parishioners, We have arrived at the final week of Advent and we should be feeling that our hearts are prepared to welcome the Lord in a new way, ready for another year of joy and sadness, busyness and rest. It was very pleasing to see so many of you at the 2nd Rite of Reconciliation last Wednesday night. Were you there? If you have not yet made your confession for Christmas, please consider taking the opportunity to receive God’s grace in this beautiful Sacrament. The Redemptorist Monastery in North Perth has the Sacrament of Reconciliation at 10am and 5pm from Tuesday to Thursday this coming week. I pray for you all in this coming week that we will give our prayer time with Jesus our full attention, so that he can speak the words he wants us to hear. Please pray for me and my brethren in return. —Fr. Without expectation our waiting can get bogged down in the present. When we wait in expectation our whole beings are open to be surprised by joy. All through the gospels Jesus tells us to keep awake and stay alert. And Paul says, “Brothers and sisters... The moment is here for you to stop sleeping and wake up, because by now our salvation is nearer than when we first began to believe. The night is nearly over, daylight is on the way, so let us throw off everything that belongs to the darkness and equip ourselves for the light” (Romans 13:11-12). It is this joyful expectation of God’s coming that offers vitality to our lives. The expectation of the fulfilment of God’s promises to us is what allows us to pay full attention to the road on which we are walking. –Henri Nouwen CALLING ALL CHILDREN CALLING ALL CHILDREN CALLING ALL CHILDREN CALLING ALL CHILDREN CHILDREN NATIVITY PLAY Family Mass, 24 December at 6.30pm Hello parents, the children will be putting on a short item at the Christmas Eve’s Family Mass held at 6:30pm. Anyone wishing to host an At Home/Parish Centre/ Bring A Plate

and Donate Morning Tea and view Maggie’s new Indian DVD of

"RESTORE AT WORK IN INDIA" is welcomed to do so any time

during the year. Maggie is happy to share the story about the small miracles

along the way that led to forming Mission Partners Morley in 1988.

A group of caring parishioners are also encouraged to consider restoring their

own little hut–slowly but surely–and receive "before" and "after" photos plus

family photos and details of their predicament, under Maggie's guidance. The

success of this project has been due to the personal feedback, photos and family

background information.

Maggie works with MIDS, an Indian organisation similar to Lifelink in WA and she

will be visiting India for the sixth time in October. Please contact Maggie at

Jubilee of Mercy Jubilee of Mercy Jubilee of Mercy Jubilee of Mercy ---- 4th Sunday of Advent4th Sunday of Advent4th Sunday of Advent4th Sunday of Advent In this week’s Gospel, Elizabeth is

filled with joy and the Holy Spirit

as she acknowledges the

presence of Jesus in Mary’s

womb. As Christians, we are

called to recognise the face of Christ in others.

When do you notice Christ alive in your spouse?

Take some time this week to reflect on your

spouse’s positive qualities. See if you can

experience some of Elizabeth’s joy as you

acknowledge these attributes and the way they

enrich your home and family life. Make a point of

acknowledging and appreciating these qualities.

Christmas Closure for Parish Office and Parish Centre

The Parish Centre will be closed to all groups from Friday, 25

December 2016 until Monday, 18 January 2016. The parish

office will close over the same period.

PARKING AT CHRISTMAS

With many visitors expected for the Christmas liturgies, let’s extend some warm

hospitality by making room for them in the car-park! We can do

this by:

• Carpooling to Christmas Mass with family and friends

• Choosing to walk to Mass

• Using the alternative parking at the Morley Rec

• Parking by the school and enjoying the short walk.

Please also remember to leave the emergency access clear

outside the Church and along the curbing. Please respect any

“NO PARKING” notices and refrain from parking on the neighbours’ verges.

Together we can make our Christmas services safe and enjoyable.
