W1942: THE TURN OF THE TIDE: ”Torch and “Uranus” AXIS: Germany, Italy, Rumania, Hungary, Bulgaria and Finland controls: Czechoslovakia, Poland, Denmark, Norway, Holland, Belgium, Occupied France, Yugoslavia, Albania, Greece, Libya, Egypt SE of Mersa Matruh. the Baltic States and Russia west of the W42 startline (Eastfront Rules). Finnish Limited War (FL) is in Effect, Finland is an Isolated minor, 3pp. Volkhov is a German Battlehex. Stalingrad is a Soviet Battlehex (Axis must deploy at least 4 units with at least 1 armor, at least 3 CV each). ALLIES: Brittain: Controls Gibraltar, Malta, Egypt West of SE from El Alamein, Palestine, Syria, Iraq, S. Persia, Aden, Sudan, Ethiopia, Somaliland, Kenya, South Africa, Afghanistan and India. All three Mideast uprisings (ME) have been defeated, Mid East Rebellion (MR) is possible in any ME Mandate that has not been garrisoned. Yugoslavia, France and Greece have been Exploited.

Soviets: The Soviets control Leningrad and all territory east of the W42 startline (Eastfront rules) (See above, Volkhov and Stalingrad) and N. Persia. Finland limited war (FL), Great Patriotic War (SG), Red Army reforms (S1 & S2) and Second Front Imminent (F2) are in effect. NEUTRALS: Vichy is cooperating with the Axis. Swedish Compliance is in effect. Switzerland, Spain and Portugal remain neutral. Vichy includes Corsica. Controls Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and West Africa. FRONTS: All three fronts are active. The Axis have allocated 50 PPs to the Eastfront and 30 PPs to the Medfront. The Allies have allocated 40 PPs to the Medfront. Naval parity is in effect in the WF and MF.

W1942 SEMI-HISTORICAL GAME: AXIS: Deploy first and move second. Germany: Deploy free within friendly territory, subject to occupation limits. All frontline Hexes must be occupied, Siege gun has been activated. MF veteran units (orange circle V) must setup west of Mersa Matruh (and the hex SE of there). NF units (Blue circle) set up in the NF. German units in Finland are restricted to Petsamo and Oulo. Torch preparations: In order to counter the expected invasion of Vichy, the following units MUST deploy in Italy: 90th Static (2CV), 90th Inf (3CV), Armor corps G (3CV) and AHQ G (2CV). OKW starts this scenario at 2CV. Italy: Units are restricted to inside or within one hex of Greater Italy. At least one unit must set up in France, Albania, Greece and Yugoslavia. MF residents are restricted to the MF. Axis satellites: All 4 EF satellite units are released. The rest of the units are restricted to their home territories.

W1942: THE TURN OF THE TIDE: ”Torch and “Uranus” SPECIAL RULES:

1) German Siege Guns: The German 54th infantry Corps (three dots within the infantry symbol) has the Heavy Railroad Siege Gun attached and fires TF versus fortresses, but cannot move or invade by sea.

2) Axis satellite demoralization: Allied SE 2F has given the Allies initiative in the West and Medfronts, causing Axis Satellites and Vichy (but not Italy) to become demoralized and subject to surrender.

3) Morocco / Tunis basing: Review the rules for building and moving units able to draw supply via Morocco (Allies) or Tunis (Axis). See 21.38

4) Vichy demoralization and Torch: Vichy is demoralized and ambivalent. Its units repulse Allied assaults weakly and may surrender. See 20.486-487

5) EARLY START IN THE WEST: The West and Medfront only have an EARLY start in NOV 42. Setup for the Eastfront is for DEC 42. No units may be moved in the Eastfront during

November during the Build units phase starting Dec42, the Production levels on the EF are 0 for both Soviet and German players.
