The Annual Total Resource Campaign (TRC) has kicked off and we

want your business front & center!

From Legislative breakfast meetings...to having a presence at the annual

In our 5th year, the TRC has allowed us to develop effective and meaningful programs and has

allowed businesses to allocate their marketing funds for the entire year by selecting which areas

they are personally and professionally invested in.

your business through face-to-face opportunities...presence on the

Chamber's website...MyChamberApp and much more!

This year’s TRC Chairman, Julie Daniels, has been a champion

for the TRC campaign since it first launched under the leadership

of David Perry, the Chamber’s first TRC Chairman. Since the

launch of the TRC, the Chamber has successfully increased the

quality of programming it offers to the business community and

the community at-large.

Annual Economic Outlook Hot Topic Luncheon

On August 25th, over 125 Chamber members attended an insightful luncheon with esteemed

guests panelists who offered perspective on workforce from the lens of the Business

community, education, and local opportunities to partner.

Go Minis portable storage solutions are perfect for moving across town

or across the state, for temporary storage at your site or ours, and for

both families and businesses. Go Minis provides a low cost, yet highly

efficient storage container on casters that is easy to maneuver and

efficient to place on your site for loading and unloading at ground level.

The standard size Minis are 12, 16, and 20 feet long. They are all 8 feet tall and 8 feet wide. Go Minis have a translucent roof

that lets in plenty of light. They are vented to reduce moisture and humidity. For convenience and security the doors roll up

and lock. Go Minis have sturdy interior railings for either hanging clothes or for tie downs. They are steel construction – a

welded frame and strong, secure steel sides. The floors are also moisture resistant.

site and the driver will bring the contracts. There is no need for

you to come to our office. We accept MasterCard and Visa for

payment when the order is placed. Why go to a personal

Now Accepting Grant

Applications! Teacher Mini-Grant Application - $500 Grants

The goal of the mini-grant program is to improve the quality of

learning by supporting projects that show promise of benefiting

students. All applications are reviewed by a panel of the Wayne

Education Network (WEN). Each proposal is evaluated based on

the following criteria:

Innovative and Educational Nature

Realistic Goal

Benefit to Students

Clarity

Reasonable Budget

Successful applicants receive funds for materials, equipment, and

other items necessary to carry out the proposed project. To date,

over $122,000 grants have been distributed to Wayne County

educators. The grants are available to all public and private

schools, teachers, media coordinators, guidance counselors and

teachers of home schooled children serving grades K-12. Grants

are made possible through the contributions of the Wayne

County area businesses and other school patrons at the Annual

Dancing Stars of Wayne County Fundraiser.

Completed applications must be submitted no later

than Monday, October 17, 2016.

The much anticipated End of Session Legislative Breakfast had a new twist this year! Instead of a Q & A format as

in year’s past, attendees heard a briefing from State Budget Director, Andrew Heath, followed by an open format

conversation with the State delegation on the most recent session’s accomplishments and what’s on the horizon for

the upcoming session.

Education dominated most of the conversation during the event. Transportation, infrastructure, and military were

also covered.

On July 31st, the WC Chamber of Commerce welcomed members of the NC Senate and

House of Representatives for the annual End of Session Legislative Update Breakfast.
