Township of Mount Pleasantintends to adopted an EarnedIncome Tax Ordinance, the captionand summary of which is asfollows:

ORDINANCE LEVYING A TAXON EARNED INCOME ANDNET PROFITS; REQUIRINGTAX RETURNS; REQUIRINGEMPLOYERS TO WITHHOLDAND REMIT TAX; ANDRELATED PROVISIONS.

The Township of Mount Pleasantintends to adopt this ordinance at ameeting to be held on October 3,2011 at 7:00. It will impose a taxfor general revenue purposes at arate of .5% on earned income andnet profit of individual residents. Itwill impose a tax for generalrevenue purposes at the rate of .5%on earned income and net profitsderived by non-residents fromwork within this municipality.This tax is in addition to any tax onearned income and net profitsimposed by the school districtwithin which this municipality islocated. The Ordinance will beeffective January 1, 2012, andcontinues the tax previouslyimposed at the same rate. Changeshave been made in the terms of thecurrently effective tax levyprimarily to conform torequirements of Act 32 of 2008,which is a restatement of the LocalTax Enabling Act, 53 P.S. ss
