PEACE WELCA NEWS
Greetings,
I start this report as we face uncertain times for our ability to continue our Church activities. With prayers that the COVID 19 virus
will soon be managed and activities resumed, we need to take the time to check on family, neighbors and friends to make sure that
they have everything they need. Many will be feeling isolated with the limited activities and phone calls, texts and email can help
everyone during this difficult time.
The WELCA board has decided to cancel our Spring Bake Sale and when we can resume services, we will hold a “No Bake” bake
sale asking for cash donations instead of baked goods.
Thank you to Team 2 (Frank and Janet Novak) for their work in March and Team 4 (Russ and Darcy Sorenson) for serving Jack’s
funeral. We appreciate each of you that took time to help in some way.
Team 3 is working on April and planning as if we will have services. If anyone is available to help for areas that have not been
filled please call me at 747-2747.
With prayers for all sincerely,
Dee Holte,
WELCA President
Conference 8 CANCELLED
March 18, 2020
Dear Conference 8 Women of the ELCA,
After many conversations and taking into account recommendations regarding large groups as this country
continues to deal with the Coronavirus outbreak, it has been decided to reschedule the 2020 Conference 8
Spring Gathering scheduled for Wednesday, April 22nd at Shalom Lutheran Church in Alexandria. The need
to keep everyone safe and out of large crowds at this time is very important.
Taking this step saddens us as these gatherings inspire and bind together the Women of the ELCA in the
common cause of supporting one another in our ministries.
We have in place a rotation of churches that have been assigned to host our gatherings. The women of Shalom
Lutheran have been looking forward to this event. Therefore, adjustments will most likely be made. If it
works out, Shalom will host the Fall Gathering and Esther Lutheran will be moved to the 2021 Spring Gather-
ing. But none of this is written in stone. We will try to keep everyone informed in this process.
God’s blessings for all of you. Stay safe….stay healthy.
If you have any questions, please contact one of us.

Lords faithfulness and passing it on to the generations to come.
Pastor Dan joined us on our lesson helping us to understand our lesson, about enjoying the hope of trusting in
the Lord for the remainder of life.
Like in our introductions to the lesson (like us, trees have a life span, like us, they will fall sometime) a tree
has fallen. On Monday we laid Hazel to rest, she was our leader, we will miss her dearly, but she would say,
"you can do it" and we will continue on.
This is our last lesson in this book and we will move on in our new book The Lord’s Prayer, lesson 1: Talking
to the Father (Matthew 6: 5-15) think about his greatness, his wisdom and his love.
Patty Van Santen opened our meeting.
We received thank you's from Someplace Safe at Grant County, and for our donations to Fergus Falls
community food shelf.
Our Sec. report was read and approved.
Our treasures report was read and approved.
Our table of homemade items has brought us over $100, keep on making things; soon we will be able to
display them again.
A motion was made and seconded that our circle will pay for our lesson books this time.
We ended our meeting with the Lord’s Prayer and The Table prayer.
We enjoyed a yummy minty green dessert and coffee with Bev hosting.
Each time an act of love is shown. God is making his presence known.
Bea Runningen, Sec.
