Black Swan As the scene first opens, it appears with a charcoal piece being dragged across the page.

Secondly, the name of the director appears on the screen. However, this soon disappears slowly seeping away into blurry, soft lettering.

After the first notice of the charcoal piece, it appears in the next clip that it seems to look smaller. This could be because of the amount of pressure added. The next titling emerges into view and again, slowly fades away.

The third piece of writing appears with the name of the musician (or who probably directed to music to be how it should be).

Again, we can notice that the charcoal is still being used. We can see that the title of the film is called ‘Black Swan’, which could also be why they have used charcoal.

There is a swift change in clip as you can see through the layers of the charcoal being used. One is disappearing as the other comes in. Another title comes through which is the story creator.

The camera shot is a close up of the charcoal piece that was used before in the last few shots. When it is left in the mid left side of the shot, it seems as if there is a mystery behind it.

.. As we still do not yet know who the person using it is.

As the opening scene goes on the amount of charcoal on the page gets thicker which could suggest anger because the amount they are adding to the paper. The next titling are the actors and actresses performing in film.

The dark background foreshadows what could happen in the actual film.

The background has been smudged too, which means that it has been altered, which could link to the film of the character changing too.

This is the end to the opening scene with a close up shot of the charcoal piece on the right hand side. The typeface looks sophisticated and is located in the middle of the screen.
