Why not take a steam train on the West Somerset Railway, go on safari or even ride an Exmoor Pony. At night you can marvel at the stars, in Europe’s first International Dark Sky Reserve! Whether you are after a mini-break at a boutique B&B or hotel, or fancy staying for longer in your own cottage with log burner and magnificent views, there is a wide range of accommodation to choose from. Then, why not take a stroll around the Memorial and Village Gardens, or let the kids paddle in the river or let off steam in our award-winning children’s playground! Getting to Dunster By train & bus: Taunton mainline station, then no. 28 bus By car: Dunster is 45 mins from the M5. Take jct 23 (Bridgwater) then A39 if coming from the north or jct 26 (Taunton) then A38/A358/A39 if coming from the south. The countryside around Dunster From the village you can take a number of stunning walks into the Exmoor hills and explore Conygar Tower and our Iron Age heritage at Bat’s Castle. If you are lucky you may catch sight of a Red Deer or Exmoor Pony! England’s Tallest Tree is in walking distance, as is the start of the South West Coast Path at Minehead.
