PRAYER MEETINGS



Dear beloved in Christ, Greetings to you all in the matchless name of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. The month of March shows the days of holiness and purity. We, the Immanu-el community, are in the Great Lent. The purpose of Great Lent is to prepare the faithful not only commemorate, but to enter into the passion and resur-rection of Jesus. Great Lent is intended to be a 'workshop' where the charac-ter of the believers is spiritually uplifted and strengthened; where he/she is rededicated to the principles and ideals of the Gospel. This is the time to make our life more meaningful. This is the time to make much more closer relationship with God and other human beings. We are called to live in this world as a transformed community. Our God is the God of forgiveness. All healing miracles were manifestation of the kingdom of God and invitation to a life of wholeness. All genuine healing acts are compassionate deeds of God in history. Throughout the ministry of Jesus he manifested this compassion. According to Dr. Philip Potter, The former General Secretary of W.C.C : "compassion is not merely sympathy. It is rather a revolutionary act against a dominant statusquoist ideology". By the grace of God we are hosting the South West Regional Conference of Edavaka Mission, Sevika Sangom and Senior Fellowship on March 6th and 7th 2020. We hope that more delegates will attend this conference. We can up-hold the smooth arrangements for the conference in our prayers. Newly elected Kaisthana Samithy will take charge of this year's Parish ministry in this month. May the Almighty God Strengthen us to lead a holy life in this Lent season and also throughout in our life. Yours in Christ, Anu Achen and Saji Achen.

World Day of Prayer 2020

Theme: “Rise! Take Your Mat and Walk” (John 5: 2–9)

DATE:- SATURDAY MARCH 14, 2020. VENUE: - TRINITY MARTHOMA CHURCH, 5810 ALMEDA GENOA ROAD, HOUSTON, TX 77048. The combined World Day of Prayer 2020 of women of churches in Hou-ston, will be held in Trinity Mar Thoma Church on Saturday, March 14 from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm. This year's proceeds from the meeting will be used to support the Repub-lic of Zimbabwe. All women are cordially welcome to attend the meeting with prayer. Lunch will be served. Those who wish to join the choir for the day are requested to register by Sunday, March 1, 2020. (Choir Practice is scheduled on 1st and 8th of March, at 5.00 pm in Trinity Mar Thoma Church.)
