Use Your Landfill PassLandfill Passes are the perfect solu-

tion to rid your home of clutter this fall. Residential customers are given one Landfill Pass each year. The pass allows customers to self-haul a single load of up to two yards or 1,000 pounds of unwanted materials to the Recology Hay Road Landfill without charge. E-waste or recyclables should not be included in the materials.

Recology Hay Road is open every day of the week from 8AM until 4PM.

Cardboard Box RecyclingLarge corrugated cardboard boxes

are accepted at the Recology Recycling Facility at 8551/2 Davis Street in Va-caville. The Facility is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9AM until 3PM. Click recology.com for a complete list of materials collected at the Facility.

Johana Preciado has only worked as a Customer Service Specialist at Recology Vacaville Solano since May, but she is no stranger to the company. Previously, she worked three years at Recology Vallejo where she learned the impor-tance of helping customers.

“Recology is all about recy-cling and customer service,” says Johana. “I’m here to help customers any way I can.”

Johana feels that her primary job is to educate customers.

“Most of my calls from customers are questions on the proper ways to set out materials for collection,” explains Johana. “I love helping people!”

Johana lives in Suisun with her hus-band Victor who is a Recology Vallejo driver. When not working Johana enjoys spending time with their five chil-dren Hugo, age 13; Lizbeth, age 12; Sophia, age 11; Monica, age 6 and Kamila, age 3.

post are available for pickup to Vacaville residents who reside in the city limits. Show your Recology bill or other identification at the Recology Hay Road scalehouse. Com-post will only be available until October 31, weather permitting.

Customers are entitled to three yards per visit, one visit per day. Supply is limited and subject to supply on hand. Bring a shovel to load up your vehicle, and bring a tarp to cover your load of compost.

Handle Lid Opening

• Toters® should be placed out with the wheels touching the curb. The lid should open to the street with the handle in the back.

• Don't block the sidewalk. • Don't park cars within 5 feet of Toters®.• Place Toters® 5 feet apart.• Put Toters® out by 6AM on your pickup

day.• Remove Toters® from curb by 6PM and

place them at the side of the house or in the rear yard. According to Municipal Code Chapter 8.10 waste receptacles must be at the side of the house or in the rear yard at all other times.

What can and cannot go in the blue Toter®?Customers in Vacaville are able to

recycle a great variety of materials. Following is a list of the materials that can and cannot go in the blue Toter®.

Place in the Blue Toter®:Paper-Newspaper, boxes, bags, cardboard (flattened), magazines, catalogs, glossy paper, phone books, softcover books, shredded paper in paper bags, junk mail, envelopes, all colors of office paper.

Glass-All beverage and food containers in all colors. Empty container, rinse, and remove lid or cap.

Plastic-All #1 through #7 narrow-neck bottles (water, soda, and detergent bottles), trays and containers. All California Redemption Value (CRV) containers. Plastic tubs for margarine, butter, yogurt, etc. Empty all containers and rinse.

Metal-Food and beverage cans (aluminum, steel, and tin). Rinse. Clean aluminum pans or foil. Empty aerosol cans. Metal lids from jars.

The following materials are not recyclable. Check website or call for proper disposal instructions.

Never Place in the Blue Toter®:

Paper-No hardcover books or binders; soiled papers, food wrappings, napkins, tissues or towels, waxed paper milk cartons or waxed paper juice cartons.

Glass-No drinking glasses; ceramics; window glass or mirrors; light bulbs or fluorescent tubes.

Plastic-No plastic toys, cups, garden hoses, etc.; plastic bags; Styrofoam; clam-shell food containers; PVC or other piping.

Metal-No electronic or computer equipment; hangers; scrap metal; fuel or propane tanks, etc.

Bundles, boxes, or bags of materials placed outside of the Toter®

will not be collected.
