Vertical Hollow Shaft Motors

Marathon Motors have been a worldwide leader in providing High Quality motors since 1913. Our IEC range of IP23 motors has been expanded to include Vertical Hollow Shaft Motors.

The power range is 11kW to 315kW, 4pole (2pole & 6pole available on request) in steel fabricated frames equipped with quality bearings, quality durable paint and 50/60Hz ratings.

The Vertical Hollow Shaft motors have been designed to drive deep well turbine water pumps for drinking water as well as irrigation.

Easy to install low maintenance Marathon VHS motors are of rugged construction with high thrust capability.

The non-reversible ratchet mechanism enables the motors to operate in one direction of rotation (usuallyclockwise when looking at the shaft) thus preventing reverse rotation of the motor's shaft caused by water back flow into the well after the motor has been stopped.

An added protection is incorporated into the motors through the pin in the clutch to prevent accidental thrust of the pump shaft.
