STAFF FITNESS LIFESTYLE

Start living the healthy, active life at UWA and get into UWA Staff Fitness. The Watersports & Leadership Centre gym is available exclusively to UWA Staff Fitness Premium members, offering stunning views over Matilda Bay, state-of-the-art equipment, personal training, and a private workout atmosphere.

Total Conditioning | 5 weeks A 45-minute class aimed at increasing aerobic fitness, burning fat, sculpt-ing lean muscle and improving overall fitness. Sessions utilize electronic cardio equipment, light free weights and dynamic resistance exercises.

Morning Yoga | 5 weeks Join other UWA staff for an hour of relaxing Iyengar yoga with stunning views of the Swan River. Start your morning feeling stretched,

relaxed and ready meet your working day.

Boot Camp

High intensity training that encompasses all facets of cardiovascular, endurance and functional strength conditioning.

Boot Camp is dedicated to the ‘hard core’ fitness enthusiasts who enjoys outdoor training. Medium level of fitness required. Not for the faint hearted!

This course runs two sessions per week over a 5 week period. Course cost covers attendance for one session only.

Currie Hall Wednesdays

Kick yourself out of your comfort zone and take up a new activity this winter.

With the closure of recreational space at Currie Hall due to the redevelopment, Currie Hall students have the opportunity to access the Boatshed and programs just for them on a Wednesday night.

Learn to row the right way, and build some real pulling power.

Never been one to train on the Rowing Ergo? This course will show you right technigue, training schedules and work outs that can be used on an Ergo.

Conducted in the UWA Fitness Centre the course will make you want you to use an Ergo not walk by it.

Strength & Conditioning Experience the benefits of weight training in a controlled environment.

A 5 week ‘master class’ program dedicated to participants who want to improve their understanding of resistance (weight) training principals.

ENROL and get involved

Who Can Enrol?Anyone can participate with UWA Sports. UWA Sport Association members receive a 25% discount on all courses and memberships.

Enrolment FormsAre available for download online at www.sport.uwa.edu.au or from the UWA Recreation & Fitness Centre front desk.

CancellationsIf a course is cancelled due to insufficient numbers, fees will be refunded in full and you will be notified. All refunds will be issued as cheques and mailed to participants.

RefundsChanges to your enrolment will only be accepted before the course commences. Refunds will not be given after this date without a medical certificate.

InjuriesThe UWA Sport & Recreation Association (UWA Sports) and/or employees cannot be liable for any personal injuries or accidents arising from participation in any UWA Sports course or activity unless the organisation is deemed negligent. Participants must be physically and mentally capable to undertake the activity they involve themselves in.
