As President of India in 1962, some students requested him to allow them to celebrate his birthday on 5 th September. He said that, instead on celebrating my birthday, why not, it is celebrated as Teachers’ Day. After his statement, 5 th of September is being celebrated as a Teachers’ Day all over India. This day is an occasion to acknowledge the commendable dedication of teachers towards their students as well as for celebrating and enjoying the relationship between teachers and students. Teaching is considered as the noblest profession in the world. Role of a teacher in every student’s life is great. Teachers not only teach them about subjects, but also help students to improve their knowledge, skill level, personality, confidence as well as shape them in the right perspective to get success in their professional career. I wish you all the success on this occasion, and expect a very good bright academic career ahead as a Teacher. Prof. P. K. GARG Guest of Honour at Next Generation Computing Technologies (NGCT'15) at UPES, Dehradun Prof. P. K. Garg, Vice-Chancellor of Uttarakhand Technical University was the Guest of Honor in an International Conference on “Next Generation Computing Technologies (NGCT'15)” on 4 Sept. 2015, organized by the Centre for Information Technology, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun. In this conference, he addressed the gathering highlighting the importance of using and developing computing techniques in handling Big data, but at the same time he stressed that analytical capabilities should also be developed amongst the students so that they are not entirely dependent on software even for small computational work. 3 rd National Uttar Pradesh Education Summit 2015 Uttarakhand Technical University was awarded on the occasion of 3 rd National Uttar Pradesh Education Summit & Awards-2015 which was jointly organized with Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow, supported by AICTE, AIU (Association of Indian Universities), NIELIT (DOEACC), Government of India MSME/MNRE/DIT at Lucknow, on 5 Sept. 2015. Teacher Day Message from Vice Chancellor, Uttarakhand Technical University

My dear esteemed teacher colleagues, as you are aware that the Teachers’ Day is celebrated on September 5th every year across the country in the honor of Dr. Sarvapali Radhakrishnan, a great educator and scholar, whose contribution toward Indian education system is unforgettable. As President of India in 1962, some students requested him to allow them to celebrate his birthday on 5th September. He said that, instead on celebrating my birthday, why not, it is celebrated as Teachers’ Day. After his statement, 5th of September is being celebrated as a Teachers’ Day all over India. This day is an occasion to acknowledge the commendable dedication of teachers towards their students as well as for celebrating and enjoying the relationship between teachers and students. Teaching is considered as the noblest profession in the world. Role of a teacher in every student’s life is great. Teachers not only teach them about subjects, but also help students to improve their knowledge, skill level, personality, confidence as well as shape them in the right perspective to get success in their professional career. Guest of Honour at Next Generation Computing Technologies (NGCT'15) at UPES, Dehradun

Prof. P. K. Garg, Vice-Chancellor of Uttarakhand Technical University was the Guest of Honor in an International Conference on “Next Generation Computing Technologies (NGCT'15)” on 4 Sept. 2015, organized by the Centre for Information Technology, University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun. In this conference, he addressed the gathering highlighting the importance of using and developing computing techniques in handling Big data, but at the same time he stressed that analytical capabilities should also be developed amongst the students so that they are not entirely dependent on software even for small computational work.

3rd National Uttar Pradesh Education Summit 2015 Uttarakhand Technical University was awarded on the occasion of 3rd National Uttar Pradesh Education Summit & Awards-2015 which was jointly organized with Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow, supported by AICTE, AIU (Association of Indian Universities), NIELIT (DOEACC), Government of India MSME/MNRE/DIT at Lucknow, on 5 Sept. 2015.

Brainstorming session at at Uttarakhand Ayurveda

University, Dehradun

Vice-Chancellor, Prof. P.K Garg was the Guest of Honour in a Brainstorming session on “Cultivating Traditional Fruits and Plants in Uttarakhand" organized by Uttarakhand Ayurveda University, Dehradun on Sept 7, 2015". Prof. Garg delivered a talk tp make use of technology for cultivating traditional fruits and plants related with the ayurveda medicine and enhancement of productivity.

Skill Enhancement Conclave-2015

Prof P K Garg, Vice Chancellor attended a HR Conclave on Sept.12, 2015, organised by Hi_Buzz (CEO Ms Seema Berthwal) and Guru Ram Rai Institute of Technology and Science, Dehradun. Prof Garg addressed the audience stressing the importance of having Institute-Industry interaction for enhancing the employability of students. Hon’ble CM was the Chief Guest in the Conclave who also facilitated Prof Garg.

Engineer’s Day Celebration

The Institutions of Engineers, (India) Uttarakhand State Centre, Dehradun celebrated 48th Engineer’s Day in commemoration of 155th Birthday of Bharat Ratna, Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya on 15th September 2015 (Tuesday).

The Chief Guest of the program was Dr K K Paul, Hon’ble Governor, Govt. of Uttarakhand. Prof. P.K Garg, VC-UTU was the Guest of Honour along with the Shri S Subba Rao Surveyor General of India, Survey of India, Dehradun, PTCUL, Dehradun, UJVNL, Dehradun, THDC, Dehradun, ONGC New Delhi PWD, Dehradun, Irrigation Department, Dehradun and Council Member IE (I) Kolkata. The theme speaker of the occasion was Dr. M.P Jain, Chancellor, IMS, Dehradun Engineering College, and New Delhi. Prof P K Garg highlighted the role of Engineers in national building and socio-economic upliftment.

Efforts made by the Govt of Uttarakhand on Sept.12, 2015, which was organised by the Justice K.D Shahi, Shri Jain, Chairman Human Right Commission and Diyajyoti and Mr Kunwar Raj Asthana Editor-in-Chief Divya Himgiri, Dehradun. The Session was addressed by Shri Rakesh Sharma, Chief Secretary, Govt of Uttarakhand, where he presented a talk supported with lots of photographs through power point presentation about the rehabilitation and development work done so far in Kedernath flood-affected area. In addition, Shri Rakesh Sharma interacted and answered the queries raised by the participants and audiences. On this occasion, Prof S S Rawat, VC, Shri Dev Suman University and other experts also made the presentation, highlighting various aspects of mitigation.

Talk on Virtual Lab

Vice Chancellor, Prof. P.K Garg on 16th September 2015 inaugurated a newly established Virtual Lab at Tula’s Institute. As Chief Guest, he delivered an address about the benefits of having Virtual Lab and its role in providing education to large masses. He mentioned that Virtual Lab will provide a forum to exchange experiences, best practices and ideas related to new techniques to learn through internet. On this occasion, Prof Vinod Kumar, Dy Director, IIT Roorkee and Principal Investigator of Virtual Lab at IIT Roorkee shared his views. The session was followed by Hands on Workshop session. The agenda includes Introduction to Virtual Lab, Working knowledge on Electrical, Civil and Medical labs, and Hands on workshop on Virtual lab

Chairmen Meeting on Sept 23, 2015

A meeting with Chairmen of all Affiliated Technical Institutions of UTU was held on 23rd September 2015 at Government Institute of Hotel Management (GIHM), Dehradun. The meeting was presided by the Vice-Chancellor, on various agenda related with the admission of students, examination system, back paper examination, faculty qualifications, finances, sport, student’s welfare, research and technical activities. Very good suggestions received from various Institutions to improve the overall education system.

6th Inter Collegiate Badminton (M/W) Tournament

The University organized 6th Inter Collegiate Badminton (M/W) Tournament, 2015-16 at Sports Complex, Parade Ground, Dehradun from 20 to 21 Sept. 2015. A large number of students from various affiliated colleges participated in the tournament. The tournament was inaugurated by the Dr

Alaknanda Ashok, Director of Women Institute of Technology, Dehradun. On the occasion Deputy Director of Youth Welfare Department, Shri Shakti Singh was also present.

Ms Neha from Biral Institute of Applied Sciences, Bhimtal won the Women Single title, Ms Neha and Ms Akansha from Biral Institute of Applied Sciences, Bhimtal won the Women Double title, also in Men category Mr Ranjeet Rawat from Jaspal Rana Institute won Men Single title and Mr Arnav and Mr Anshul from Jaspal Rana Institute won Men Double title. The University team was also selected for the North Zone Badminton tournament, Rothak following were selected: Women: Ms Neha, Ms Praveen, Ms Akansha, Ms Shafali Negi and Ms Vanita Men : Mr Ranjeet, Mr Vasu Gupta, Mr Arnav, Mr Rishab Joshi, Mr Neeraj Singh and Mr Jaswant Singh.

Women Institute of Technology

1. Teacher’s Day Celebration

All across the world, Teacher's Day celebrations are undertaken to honor teachers for their sincere efforts to impart knowledge to their students. By having celebrations on Teacher's Day, Women Institute of Technology conveys the message that they care for their teachers, just as they do for others. Celebrating the Day is the recognition of the devotion, with which, teachers undertake the responsibility of educating a child academically as well as morally. Women Institute of Technology, M.Phil and M.Tech Department of UTU jointly organized a program for their teachers. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. P.K Garg was the Chief Guest of the program. The cultural program was organized by the students, performing dance, singing and mimicry. On this day, students dressed up like their teachers and performed as the same way as their teachers do. As the day passes, the students performed the activities that are normally

performed by the teachers. The celebration created a deeper understanding between the teachers and their students; the celebration brought out a healthy interaction between students and teachers, wherein the latter recognizes the teaching capability of the former, the celebration reflect the fact that the students cares about their teachers. Also, the prize for the best teachers was distributed by the Vice Chancellor, where students themselves chosen their best teacher.

2. Engineers Day Celebration

On 15th September 2015, on the occasion of birthday of Shri. Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, Women Institute of Technology and UTU celebrated Engineer’s Day.

The program was organized by the Institute Director –Mrs Alaknanda Ashok, where the main motive is to provide the carrier counseling and opportunities to B.Tech and M.Tech students. The program was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor, Prof. P.K Garg and other guests by lighting the lamps. On the occasion of Engineers Day, the Institute organized a seminar on carrier operations and motivations in which Mr Ashok Kumar ADGP (IPS), Mr Tariq Khan (Circle Head, ZT BSNL-PSU), Shri. Vijay Kumar- IFS, Smt Swati Singh-SDM Mussoorie and Mr Vijender Chauhan (CEO-Evon Technologies) were also present.

3. Talk on Role of Alumni in Institute Developemnt

A talk by Ms Pornima Gupta, from USA (An IIT Roorkee senior Alumnus) was organized at WIT for the benefits of students and faculty. The role of Alumni in Institute development was presented. She also stressed the need of improvement in higher education as well as responsibilities of the students for the same. As she is a famous poetess, she also narrated one poem from her collection of books which was very well appreciated by the students of WIT. She has been an active member and President of North America IIT Roorkee chapter.

4. SPIC MACAY Program

A program of Carnatic Music was held on 23rd September-2015, at WIT Campus, UTU Dehradun. This program was organized in association of SPIC MACAY Dehradun. The Vice Chancellor, Prof, P.K Garg, was the Chief Guest and Vidushi Bombay Jayshri Ramnath was the main Artist of the program.

The program was well attended by all the students and staff of WIT and UTU. It was very well received by the audience.

5. Blood Donation Camp

On 29th September 2015, Women Institute of Technology along with Uttarakhand Technical University jointly organized a blood donation camp with collaboration of IMA Blood Bank Uttarakhand. The blood donation campaign with inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. P.K Garg in the

presence of Women Insitute of Technology-Director Mrs Alaknanda Ashok and Faculty & students.

The doctors from IMA Blood Bank Uttarakhand informed the students about the various diseases related to blood and also briefly informed about the benefits of blood donation. The doctors encouraged all for blood donations. More, then 100 units of blood was donated.

Also, the same day the medical room of Women Institute of Technology was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor, in presence of faculty and staff . On this occasion, Staff from Dolphin Institute, Doctors and staff of IMA, Staff of UTU and WIT, students of WIT and Faculty of Technology-UTU Campus participated and donated blood with great enthusiasm.

Omkarananda Institute of Management and Technology

Omkarananda Institute of Management and Technology, Rishikesh, running various courses, celebrated 17th Founder’s Day on 7th September 2015 with fervor and gusto. Students from all courses gathered in the central courtyard to put up a series of enthusiastic performances while proud parents and teachers. The students wove in the values and beliefs of their institute into musical medleys for a show continuously streamed live for alumni and patrons across the globe.

On this day Prof. P.K Garg, Vice Chancellor of the University graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Dr. Ashish Uniyal Controller of Examination and Deputy Registrar UTU, along with Mr Subodh Uniyal, Swamiji and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.

GRD-Institute of Management and Technology

Vishwakarma Day

As per annual tradition, Vishwakarma Day was celebrated to Worship God Vishwakarma on 17th September, 2015. Puja was performed in Central Workshop, Engineering Department, GRDIMT with enthusiasm and reverence to ‘God Vishwakarma’.

Vishwakarma Puja is a resolution time for workers and engineers to increase productivity and gain divine inspiration for creating novel products. Puja was performed under pious environment by Honourable Chairman Sardar Rajaji, Director Amin Lata Gupta, Director General P K Das, Director Btech Vishal Gupta, all HODs and faculties along with all the students. Students and Staff offered prayer for smooth functioning of various machines and tools.

J.B. Institute of Technology 1. Fresher’s Welcome Party-2015 J.B. Institute of Technology, Dehradun organized a “Fresher’s Welcome Party-15” on 4th Sept. 2015. Second year students hosted several games, quizzes and cultural events in welcome of their juniors. Freshmen appreciated this and thanked to their seniors to provide them a platform to reciprocate their insatiable desire to innovate.

Mr. Ganesh Joshi was the Chief Guest of the celebration. He urged the students to be sincere and dedicated with moral values. He appreciated the teachers of Dehradun and recognized their integral role and contributions in converting Dehradun as “Hub of Good Technical Education” within a short span of time. Chairman Mr. L.D. Singhal initiated the function with lamp lightning. Vice Chairman Mr. Sandeep Singhal, Secretary Mr. Rajat Singhal, Dean, Mr. Pankaj Chaudhary, all HODs and faculty were present in the celebration. 2. “Teacher’s Day” celebrated at JBIT, Dehradun J.B. Institute of Technology, Dehradun celebrated Teachers’ Day. Students of various classes thanked the teachers for their inspirational guidance at every stage of life of students. Students also organized several games for teachers on this occasion. All Faculty members were delighted to see the love and respect from students. Chairman Mr. L.D. Singhal blessed all the students. Vice Chairman Mr. Sandeep Singhal,

Secretary Mr. Rajat Singhal, Dean Mr. Pankaj Chaudhary, all HODs and faculty were present on the occasion.

3.Viswakarma Jayanti

J.B. Institute of Technology, Dehradun celebrated Viswakarma Jayanti on 17th Sept. 2015. All students of attended the pooja with full spiritualism and dedication. Dean, Mr. Pankaj Chaudhary enlightened the importance of tools and technology in the life of engineers. He urged the students to perform more research in designing and manufacturing so that technology can be reached to common mass which will be a true tribute to Lord Viswakarma “The God of Engineers”. Chairman Mr. L.D. Singhal initiated the pooja and blesses all the students. Vice Chairman Mr. Sandeep Singhal, Secretary Mr. Rajat Singhal, all HODs and faculty were present in the celebration.

4. Pool Campus Placements by Multinational Companies J.B. Institute of Technology, Dehradun hosted an Open Pool Campus drives for selection process for four reputed Multinational Companies viz eClincal Works, Bridgestone India Automotive Products Ltd, Everest Industries Limited and Megrisoft Limited between Sept 15 to 25. In these open pool campus placement drives, 332 students from 19 different colleges of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab participated with full enthusiasm. Thirty six students were finally selected and got the joining letters. Chairman Mr. L.D. Singhal blessed all the selected students and urged them to be a good employee to their organizations.

Maya Group of Colleges

1. Industrial Interaction session On 3rd Sept 2015, Maya Group of Colleges organized the a Faculty and Students Development Program on “Current hiring trends in the industry today”. This development class was conducted by Mr. Tarun and Mr. Nitesh of firm named Tanika Edification.

Main focus of the event was to enhance the skills of students of Maya Group of Colleges. Students were able to learn about the present scenario of different branches industries. This gave the students an opportunity to connect with their classmates and batch-mates of different branches. The students also got an opportunity to personally interact with the industry experts in a two-hour long interaction session during the event.

2. Celebrates Teachers’ Day On 5th Sept. 15, Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and Maya Fraternity organized a cultural program to honor the faculty members of Maya Colleges, and celebrated tireless efforts made by them to carry forward the endless light of knowledge. The students put their best foot forward to pay respect to their teachers through poems, quotes and songs. The campus was abuzz with activities of teachers’ day celebrations as a large number of students joined in to show their gratitude to their favorite teachers. Many alumni who have made a mark for themselves and are working at top positions in various MNCs came to the college to pay respect and for inspiring and motivating the students to follow their dreams.

Students paid reverence to teachers through cultural program ‘Guru Vandana’ comprising of national and international folk-dances. Students of all streams actively participated to hear the enlightening words of wisdom and gain from the vast pool of knowledge of their respected Gurus. Expecting splendid achievements from the teachers in the fields of research & development and teaching, Vice-Chairman Dr. Ashish Semwal said “Teachers play key-role in the life of their students. Our teachers should keep on

working hard to be considered the best minds not only in the country but all across the world also. I suggest teachers to be always ahead of time in their thinking so that our students can become global leaders. The need of the hour is to follow ideology of world- known great Indian teachers & policy makers- Chankaya and Dr. Radha Krishnan.” Dr. Semwal added “While teachers should keep on contributing for the society, such celebrations should also go on to recognize teachers’ achievements.” On this occasion Chairman Mr. M.L. Juyal said “Teachers should prove their mettle as the best minds of the world”. On this occasion Directors, Faculties of Maya Group of Colleges were also present. 3. World Literacy Day

In the words of Kofi Annan, Former Secretary General of the United Nations, “Literacy is a bridge from misery to hope and a tool for daily life in modern society. It is a fortification against poverty, and a building block of development, an essential complement to investments in roads, dams, clinics and factories.” On September 8, Maya Group of Colleges celebrates the World Literacy Day with great enthusiasm and fervor. Debate was conducted at Maya Group of Colleges on the topic of “Literacy in Modern India”.

Vice-Chairman, Dr. Ashish Semwal said “Whether it’s reading or writing, literacy is an outlet to an untouchable world – your imagination. Not only is literacy a basic human right, it is a fundamental building block for learning as well as a personal empowerment tool. It is the catalyst for social and global progress.” On this occasion, Chairman Mr. M.L. Juyal said “International Literacy Day gives children and communities a chance to rediscover the joys of reading while raising awareness for those without access to education.” On

this occasion Directors, Faculties of Maya Group of Colleges were also present.

4. Celebrated Engineer’s Day

On 15th September 15, Engineer’s Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in the Maya Fraternity. The Maya Group of Colleges celebrated the Engineers' Day asking the students to get inspired by this accomplishment of genius, like Sir Mokshagundam Vishweshwarayya on whose birthday the day is celebrated. His services to the engineering field were recalled and students were told how a great source of inspiration he was for engineers across the country. Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya was the chief designer of the flood protection system for the city of Hyderabad in Telangana, as well as the chief engineer responsible for the construction of the Krishna Raja Sagara dam in Mysore. “Engineering is not merely knowing and being knowledgeable; engineering is not merely analysis; engineering is not merely the possession of the capacity to get elegant solutions to non-existent engineering problems; engineering is practicing the art of the organized forcing of technological change”. Engineers operate at the interface between science and society. This year Maya Group of Colleges, which has always proved itself in providing efficient technocrats to the country, acknowledged the work of this great engineer by celebrating with great enthusiasm and fervor.

The faculties and students of the College gathered in the seminar hall and discussed the importance and works of the engineers in today's era. It was then followed by Saraswati Vandana which marked the commencement of cultural program. The cultural program included various scintillating dance and melodious musical performances that bound

everybody to tap their feet and sway on the beats. The event captivated the audience and left everyone mesmerized. 5. Ganesh Chaturthi

The most awaited tradition of “Ganeshotsav” was celebrated on the 17th September, 2015 with great pomp and enthusiasm in Maya Group of Colleges. Ganeshotsav 2015 emphasized not only on culture and tradition but also on social concerns of the present times. The theme ‘Global Warming-ECO-FRIENDLY’ was chosen as it is a highly concerned social matter. Team spirit and coordination was the essence when people worked together to make this a memorable festival. The ‘Sthapana’ and ‘Puja’ were performed by a priest. Devotees including Chairman, Vice-Chairman Dr. Ashish Semwal, Managing Director Mrs. Tripti Semwal, all Directors, faculties and students came to seek blessings of the lord.

6. Workshop on Optical Fiber

On 19th Sept 2015, Maya Group of Colleges organized a workshop by Electronics Department on “Optical Fiber”, organized by Ms. Priya Kalra. Fiber is an integral part of modern day communication infrastructure and can be found along roads, in buildings, hospitals and machinery. The fiber itself is a strand of silica based glass, its dimensions similar to those of a human hair, surrounded by a transparent cladding. Light can be transmitted along the fiber over great distances at very high data rates providing an ideal medium for the transport of information.

During this workshop, Vice-Chairman said “The two words 'information' and 'communication' are often used interchangeably, but they signify quite different things.

7. Workshop on LED Bulbs

On 21st Sept 2015, Maya Group of Colleges organized a workshop by Electronics Department on “LED Bulbs”, organized by Mr. Dileep Kumar Jaiswal. Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) are part of a class of lighting called Solid State Lighting (SSL). Unlike incandescent or compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), LEDs are small electronic components that convert electricity into light.

LED applications allow for extraordinary flexibility in lighting design with regard to color, brightness, size, shape, and distribution. There is even a fabric with solid state lighting incorporated into the weave imagine T-shirts with designs that change shape and color, or a sofa in an airline

terminal with a digital clock displayed across its cushions! Ongoing research in LED lighting is happening right now all around the world. Governments and private industry are extremely interested in LEDs both because of their great adaptability in design and the potential energy savings that LED lighting offers.

8. Workshop on .NET

On 23rd Sept 2015, Maya Group of Colleges organized a workshop on “.NET” by Ms. Chanchal Ahlawat of Computer Science Department. The .NET technology provides a new approach to software development. This is the first development platform designed from the ground up with the Internet in mind. Previously, internet functionality has been simply bolted on to pre-internet operating systems like Unix and Windows. This has required internet software developers to understand a host of technologies and integration issues. .NET is designed and intended for highly distributed software, making Internet functionality and interoperability easier and more transparent to include in systems than ever before. .NET was first introduced in the year 2002 as .NET 1.0 and was intended to compete with Sun's Java. And .NET is very easy but the basics of the C language is required and if you know them then by step you can know and do it well.

During this workshop, Vice-Chairman said “The Internet is the world's largest library. It's just that all the books are on the floor”. On this occasion Director (admin), faculties of Maya Group of Colleges were present.

9. Martial art become Art of Living

Three days workshop on self defence, disaster & conflict management from 25th to 27th Sept 2015, was organized by

the Maya Group of Colleges where students and teachers attended special class on self defence. This auspicious occasion was graced by expert, Mr. Vikram Kapoor who received various national and international awards, and is the Technical Director of Maya college of Disaster and Conflict Management. Around 350 students and 60 faculty members participated in the special workshop conducted by Mr. Kapoor. Mr. Kapoor is also master trainer of the Special Force Units who failed the ‘Gurudaspur’ terrorist attack. After seeing the Gurudaspur incident it is not wrong to call him “Shatru Naasak”. It was really a golden opportunity to make students getting into the habit of keeping themselves fit and fine. The day's programme included 'The Profile of various Martial Art', a reading by a senior student of the college, followed by a short video presentation throwing a light on the history of Martial Art and its acceptance all over the world during the last two hundred years.

The occasion was well conversed out with information on importance, types and benefits of Self Defence Techniques. Mr. Vikram Kapoor was of the view that many people think of self-defence as a karate kick to the groin or jab in the eyes of an attacker. But self-defence actually means doing everything possible to avoid pre-fighting, in-fighting and post-fighting. Self-Defence is all about using your smarts not your fists. The function concluded with an energetic and enthusiastic exercises session by the students in the open grounds of the college.

10. Microprocessors & Microcontrollers

On 28th Sept 2015, Maya Group of Colleges organized a workshop on “Microprocessor and Microcontroller” by Prof.

(Dr) Parul Goyal, Director of Maya group of Colleges. Dr. Parul Goyal focused his seminar on the 8085, 8086 and different types of advance microprocessor and microcontroller. During this Faculty Development Program, Vice-Chairman said “A large number of students around the world don't really have access to high quality education. So, doing such faculty development program allows students to have much better access to a high quality education”. On this occasion Chairman Mr. M.L. Juyal said “Real education should educate us out of self into something far finer; into a selflessness which links us with all humanity”. On this occasion Director (admin), faculties of Maya Group of Colleges were also present.

11. Workshop on Antenna Engineering

On 29th Sept 2015, Maya Group of Colleges organized a workshop by Electronics Department on “Antenna Engineering” by Mr. Dileep Kumar Jaiswal.

During this workshop, Vice-Chairman said “There is a single light of science, and to brighten it anywhere is to brighten it everywhere.” On this occasion Director (admin), faculties of Maya Group of Colleges were also present.

12. Workshop Rock Bed Thermal Storage

On 30th Sept 2015, Maya Group of Colleges organized a workshop by Mechanical Department on “Rock bed thermal storage by Mr. Anmol Prince. Rock bed is concept in which heat storage system for a room stores heat by circulating air heated by solar radiation during the day through an insulated layer of rocks. At night, when the temperature of the room decreases, a fan circulates the hot air into the room. The advantages of this are that rocks are cheap and their specific heat is high.

Roorkee College of Engineering

1. Teacher’s Day

Every year to memories the birthday of our learned teacher Dr. S. Radha Krishanan, Teachers Day is celebrated on Sept., 4 as 5th was holiday. Just after lightning of the lamp by Chairman CA, Shri Satyendra Gupta, Director General Prof. Gopal Ranjan, Director Dr. S. K. Saini and other teachers, the students presented very thoughtful and beautiful items. Director General told about the life of Dr. Sarvpalli Radha Krishanan. Director presented a thought provoking message. At the end of the program Mr. Chairman blessed and thanked all the students for this wonderful event.

2. Engineers Day

Every engineering concerns celebrates the birthday of BHARAT RATAN M Vishvesraiya as Engineers Day on September 15. On this occasion, Professor Surendra Kumar from IIT Roorkee gave his lecture on waste to energy.

3. Industrial Visits

To familiarize students with industries, an industrial visit for all B.Tech Ist year students was organized from Sept. 8 to 9.

The students visited Government workshop at Roorkee. They were escorted by Mr. Rahul Bharti and Mr. Sachin Tyagi. The students responded very well showed great interest in learning the methodology for fabrication. The students also expressed to maintain consistency in such visits.

4. Workshop A workshop on “Role of personality Factor in Job Satisfaction” was organized by ISB Hyderabad. The students interacted more with the speakers.

5. Vishwakarma Day

To worship Loard Vishwkarma a “havan” was organized workshop on Sept. 17, 2015. All the machines in workshop were garlanded.

6. Guests Lecture series

To apprise the RCEians of latest technology on various aspects for development and growth, special guest lectures by various top educationists and experts are planned. In this series, Professor Rajesh Chandra, Professor N P Padhi, Professor Navneet Arora, and Professor Mohan Lal from IIT Roorkee and Mr. Amit Kumar Mishra from Tata Consultancy Lucknow were invited. They all gave very thought provoking lectures.

7. Fresher’s party

To convey the message of affection and unity among the students coming from different places a welcome function for the new entrants was organized by the all 2nd year students on

Roorkee College of Pharmacy

1. Freshers' Party

Roorkee College of Pharmacy, Roorkee organized a freshers' party “Aagaaze” on 18th Sept. 2015. The purpose of freshers day party is to welcome newcomers in a friendly atmosphere and avoid social evils, to encourage their creative impulses to boost their confidence. On the occasion, Dr Aswinin Kumar, Managing Truste, Sh N K Chaudhary, MD, and other guests inaugurated the function. Dr Naveen Goyal, Director congratulated the freshers for choosing RCP for their education. It was a colorful occasion as freshers were dressed in their best attire outfit. Apart from performances, there was audience interaction session where the students imitated their respective faculties. Making it one of the hippest dos, Pharmacy students of Roorkee College of Pharmacy, Roorkee partied as they welcomed the freshers. Among all the spiffy youngsters, the stars of the event - Ms Fresher Gurmeet, Mr. Fresher Gaurav were awarded for their outstanding performance. 2. Hindi Diwas

On 14th September, 2015, Hindi Diwas was celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm at Roorkee College of Pharmacy, Roorkee. Dr Aswini Kumar, Managing Trustee shared his views on the importance and status of Hindi language with the audience. Students of RCP recited poems and dohas.

A skit competition was also organized on the occasion. Dr Naveen Goyal, Director congratulated the students and faculty members for organizing such a wonderful function.

PhD Viva Voce held

University recently conducted nine Ph.D viva voce exams in Pharmacy and Management Studies. On 19th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd , 28 and 29th September 2015, the viva voce exams of Mr Sarthak Bhattacharya, Ms Meenakshi Bhatt, Mr Dilip Kumar Gupta, Ms Shashi Singh, Ms Swarnali Dass , Mr Tejinder eet Singh, Mohd. Asif, Devkant Kala and Meenakshi Chandok were successfully completed by the University. (Hearty Congratulations to all the candidates for successful completion of their PhD program.

M.Tech-Sequential Thesis Viva Voce held

The University has successfully conducted the viva voce of Ms Anshika Gupta, M.Tech-Sequential, Computer Science and Engineering on 14th Sept. 2015

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)-2016

GATE Examinations for all the papers will be conducted as per details available at http://gate.iisc.ernet.in/. Admission to Postgraduate Courses (Master’s and Doctoral) in the country, with MHRD and other Government Scholarships/Assistantships in Engineering/Technology/ Architecture/Science, is based on qualifying the GATE exams. The GATE score is also used by some PSUs for their recruitment.
